Description

Are you an experienced software marketing leader who desires a role focused exclusively on creating provocative product and vision messaging for a $300M company with a broad portfolio of products and solutions? We have over 200 go-to-market professionals, and every one of them will use your messaging every day! At Aurea, we're looking for someone with strong leadership and messaging creation skills combined with the business acumen to establish clear market differentiation.

What you will be doing

  • Synthesize solution group and product vision and roadmap documentation to identify the messaging elements that will resonate with the target audience
  • Perform market research to identify important dimensions that best position the products to win in the market
  • Identify candidate messages to be tested against target personas and work with customer marketing and sales execute the testing
  • Create provocative and compelling product messaging that enables sales to win and provides the foundation for downstream creation of all marketing collateral and content

What you will NOT be doing

  • Developing marketing plans for sales and marketing teams
  • Creating training materials and training programs for salespeople
  • Working with analysts and other industry influencers to establish thought leadership in the market

Key responsibilities

  • Using the Product Vision artifacts developed by Product Management, you will create the pitch for solution groups and products that tells the story that outlines how the world is changing, how that change will impact the target persona's organization, where we are taking the product given this new reality, and how our approach provides a solution that is superior to all other alternatives. These pitches will be used externally by the commercial teams to present the vision.
  • Using the Product and Release Definition artifacts developed by Product Management, you will create Messaging Briefs that articulate business value with the necessary detailed context to arm the commercial teams with the messaging required to develop their customer and market-facing work products.

Candidate requirements

  • A university degree, ideally in a marketing, communications, or business discipline (Marketing, Communications, Business Management, Public Relations, etc.)
  • At least 7 years of experience in software marketing role
  • At least 2 years in a marketing leadership role where you owned the creation of new content
  • Ability to create concise, provocative, and differentiated messaging
  • Ability to understand new products quickly and completely

Nice to have

  • Marketing leadership experience focused on B2B enterprise software
  • History of direct exposure to multiple marketing functions
  • Marketing experience with mergers and acquisitions
