At Alpha, we believe in nurturing holistic development through a unique blend of sports psychology, neuroscience, and mindfulness. Our approach is dynamic, engaging, and tailored to foster cognitive empowerment and a growth mindset in our students. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to design and implement an AI-driven EQ program, creating a transformative educational experience. Our environment encourages students to break mental barriers, harness their cognitive potential, and develop a comprehensive understanding of their emotional and social dynamics.

Why choose Alpha?

  • Competitive pay - we believe you shouldn't take a pay cut to work in education
  • Remote work experts - we are a hybrid team of on-campus educators and fully remote staff, with robust asynchronous communication tools and processes that enable success
  • AI-First mindset - we believe generative AI (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) is our superpower, allowing us to work better, faster, and smarter
  • Growth and learning culture - we model the growth & learning we expect our students to embrace, so you'll receive coaching, training, and opportunities for leadership

What you will be doing

  • Counseling individual students and interacting with parents to provide targeted emotional guidance and support.
  • Developing and leading interactive, research-based workshops to teach and reinforce EQ skills in students.
  • Collaborating closely with educators, providing them with tools and strategies to enhance EQ development in the classroom.
  • Utilizing AI tools to augment and personalize the EQ learning experience for students and educators alike.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Providing therapy or long-term counseling services.
  • Diagnosing or acting as the sole provider of treatment for mental health needs.
  • Limiting your impact to conventional SEL approaches; instead, you'll be pioneering innovative, AI-driven methodologies.

Key responsibilities

  • Build Alpha's EQ program from scratch, infusing elements of sports psychology and growth mindset.
  • Implement rigorous, AI-enhanced strategies to support students in achieving their highest potential.
  • Continuously engage in research to keep the program at the forefront of EQ education.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a role related to EQ, motivational psychology, sports psychology, or applied neuroscience OR a degree in one of these fields
  • At least 2 years of experience in the research, development, and implementation of educational programs
  • Experience evaluating and adapting various EQ resources to enhance educational programs or initiatives
  • An eagerness to rapidly learn and master AI tools and their applications in elevating educational experiences

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in a counseling-related field
  • Experience in K-12 school counseling, with a deep understanding of IEPs, 504 Plans, and learning accommodations
  • National Certified Counselor certification and Texas licensure (or eligibility to transfer license to Texas)
