SVP of Campus Expansion Operations   $400,000 USD/year

Description

You’ve launched facilities under pressure — multiple sites, tight timelines, and no margin for misalignment. You know what happens when construction delays compound, vendors miss specs, and a launch window slips. You also know how to prevent all of that.

2 Hour Learning is opening 25–30 new campuses in the next six months. We need a hands-on operator to make that real: someone who can own every step of the physical school setup process — from contractor mobilization and timeline tracking to last-mile punchlists and maintenance handoff.

This is a zero-to-one execution role. If the building isn’t ready, nothing else happens.

ABOUT 2 HOUR LEARNING

2 Hour Learning powers Alpha Schools, NextGen Academy, GT School, Texas Sports Academy, and Unbound Academy — a growing family of K–12 schools and education products built around one proven idea: students can achieve a full year of academic growth in just two focused hours per day. The rest of the day is theirs — for sailing, sports, public speaking, or game design.

Our platform combines real-time progress dashboards, curriculum recommendations, and feedback tools — giving students and guides the structure they need to go fast, and the space they need to grow.

We’re private equity-backed, with long-term funding and a mandate to scale. This isn’t a test. The model works. Charter applications are live. Campuses are expanding. Now we’re building the infrastructure to bring it everywhere it can work.

WHY THIS ROLE?

This is a builder’s role — ideal for someone who’s led major capital projects, complex expansions, or high-speed retail rollouts, and wants real ownership over the physical environments where students will learn and grow.

You’ll have:

  • Direct control over timelines, specs, and outcomes
  • A model that’s already proven — and funding to move fast
  • Cross-functional exposure to legal, launch, facilities, and founder teams
  • A mandate to solve problems before they become delays

You’ll be working closely with a founding team that cares deeply about pace, quality, and getting things done right the first time. If you’ve been told you move too fast for most orgs — this is the right org.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT?

If you’ve ever looked at a construction timeline and thought, “This wouldn’t slip if I were in charge,” — we want to talk to you!

What you will be doing

  • Leading campus build-outs across 25–30 locations over the next 6–12 months
  • Owning construction timelines and resolving blockers across jurisdictions
  • Managing vendor selection, negotiation, onboarding, and execution
  • Coordinating with permitting, real estate, legal, and ops to hit go-live deadlines
  • Developing a repeatable build process that improves with every site
  • Overseeing maintenance strategy and ensuring clean handoffs to site-level support teams

What you will NOT be doing

  • Working from a blueprint — you’ll design the playbook as you go
  • Focusing on one site at a time — you’ll be scaling launches in parallel
  • Outsourcing quality — you’ll be accountable for launch readiness
  • Getting stuck in rework — your job is to anticipate, align, and execute
  • Sitting in a PMO silo — this is a visible leadership role tied to outcomes
  • Waiting for executive direction — this role is the driver

Key responsibilities

Deliver fully built, fully compliant, student-ready campuses on time, across markets — enabling successful school launches with zero physical blockers.

Candidate requirements

We’re looking for an execution-oriented operator — whether from consulting, education, real estate, or retail expansion — who’s launched physical sites with real constraints and real consequences.

You should bring:

  • 10+ years leading facility launches, capital projects, or physical expansion
  • Deep experience managing vendors, contractors, and delivery timelines
  • Familiarity with permitting, build-to-launch workflows, and stakeholder coordination
  • A bias for ownership — you keep projects on track and preempt problems
  • Comfort using AI tools to streamline communication and reporting
  • U.S. work authorization and ability to travel domestically ~25% (1 week/month)
