Director of Retail Operations   $400,000 USD/year

Description

Are you prepared to revolutionize operational excellence with the power of AI? At 2 Hour Learning, we're on a mission to transform K-12 education through our innovative model that achieves 2.6x academic growth in just two-hour sessions. Our goal is to harness AI to expand this cutting-edge approach while ensuring outstanding student results. This isn't just about efficiency—it's about setting a new benchmark in education.

We seek a visionary operational leader who can simplify complex processes and automate them with AI-first solutions. We need more than someone familiar with AI; we need a technical expert who can implement it—integrating systems, executing API calls, and crafting intelligent frameworks that deliver strategic insights.

In collaboration with the founder, you'll guide strategic decisions and have substantial control and oversight of operational frameworks that fuel our expansion. This role requires an unyielding commitment to excellence and the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.

If you're ready to champion the operational AI transformation and possess the strategic foresight to scale an innovative educational model, this is your chance to make a significant impact.

What you will be doing

  • Crafting AI-Enhanced Systems: Develop and deploy AI-driven operational frameworks to optimize efficiency and uphold exceptional educational outcomes at scale.
  • Strategic Insight Delivery: Utilize AI tools to provide real-time strategic insights to the founder, spotting growth opportunities and preemptively addressing risks.
  • Leading Cross-Functional Teams: Oversee expansive, cross-functional operational portfolios to ensure the seamless integration of AI solutions across the organization.
  • Hands-On AI Execution: Apply technical expertise to integrate systems, execute API calls, and automate intricate processes—delegation of technical tasks is not an option.
  • Championing Operational Excellence: Implement AI-enabled quality control systems to ensure consistent delivery of our academic model across various locations.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing Daily Campus Operations: Your emphasis is on strategic scaling and automation, not on handling individual campus operations.
  • Developing Curriculum or Supervising Educational Staff: This position is centered on operational excellence, not educational content or instruction.
  • Theorizing Without Execution: We require tangible, technical AI application—not just strategic concepts or theoretical approaches.
  • Maintaining the Status Quo: Complacency has no place here—this is a dynamic, high-growth role demanding constant innovation.

Key responsibilities

Design and implement AI-driven operational frameworks and automated systems to enable scalable growth and consistent delivery of 2 Hour Learning’s academic model, while offering actionable, data-driven strategic insights to the founder.

Candidate requirements

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in scaling multi-location businesses (education, high-end retail, hospitality, or healthcare).
  • Previous experience at a leading management consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG).
  • Proficient in practical and technical use of AI tools; must pass a rigorous assessment involving business process automation through AI.
  • Experience transforming operational processes into AI-driven systems with demonstrable technical execution (coding, API integrations, automation).
  • Proven history of managing large-scale, cross-functional operational portfolios, driving strategic transformation, and achieving high-level business outcomes.
  • Track record of developing and presenting strategic recommendations to C-suite executives, particularly the ability to translate complex operational data into clear, actionable executive-level insights.
  • Reside in the United States and willing to travel 30% of the time to campus locations.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
