Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a full-time, in-person position based at our vibrant Austin, Texas campus.

Are you ready to reshape the landscape of early childhood education by leading at the forefront? At Alpha School in Austin, we're on the hunt for a remarkable individual who can inspire young minds while elevating a team of Guides to extraordinary levels.

Picture yourself as the coach who not only trains Olympic gymnasts but also competes alongside them, consistently achieving perfect scores. That's the caliber of versatility and excellence we seek. You'll divide your time between mentoring a group of K-2 students and guiding a team of Guides (our term for the dedicated professionals who coach and inspire children), holding both to the highest standards.

Our 2-Hour Learning program blends AI-driven adaptive technology with hands-on guidance, crafting a uniquely tailored educational experience. You'll be the pivotal force in this system, equally skilled at engaging a 5-year-old in foundational literacy and coaching an adult Guide in advanced facilitation techniques.

At Alpha, we don't merely challenge the status quo—we redefine it. If you can effortlessly transition from building LEGOs with kindergarteners to conducting data-driven performance reviews with your team, you're the one we want. Your ability to inspire, motivate, and elevate both children and adults will be the catalyst for transforming education from the ground up.

You'll also work with the most challenging cohort of K-2 students—those who push our boundaries in various ways. This might include exceptionally advanced learners we're striving to challenge, fiercely independent spirits we're guiding towards teamwork, or students struggling to engage with our computer-based approach. Your role is to connect these students' academic goals with their unique motivations, setting the gold standard for personalized learning.

Don't just dream of a better educational system—help us create it. Apply now and join the team that's writing the next chapter in learning. At Alpha, we're not just preparing students for the future; we're shaping it. Are you ready to join us?

What you will be doing

  • Mentor a cohort of K-2 students, demonstrating world-class facilitation skills in early childhood education
  • Lead and develop a team of Guides, showcasing exceptional coaching techniques for young learners
  • Craft and implement playbooks that define excellence in K-2 education within our innovative learning environment
  • Deliver actionable feedback to your team of Guides, fostering continuous improvement in student engagement and achievement
  • Utilize AI-driven tools to enhance educational outcomes, bridging the gap between technology and human touch for our youngest learners

What you will NOT be doing

  • Focusing solely on either student instruction or team leadership—you'll excel at both simultaneously
  • Accepting mediocrity from students or Guides—you'll maintain sky-high standards across the board
  • Relying on outdated teaching methods—you'll pioneer new approaches that blend technology with tried-and-true pedagogical practices
  • Shying away from challenges—you'll tackle the complexities of early childhood education and team leadership with equal vigor

Key responsibilities

Lead the development of independent learning and life skills for K-2 students, especially those presenting unique challenges, while simultaneously elevating a team of Guides to implement the Alpha system with world-class excellence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 5 years of experience working with early learners (K-2) with leadership responsibilities
  • Strong public speaking skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and energize both child and adult audiences
  • Proven track record of developing innovative educational programs and leading high-performing teams
  • Mastery in employing growth mindset and data-driven coaching strategies for diverse age groups
  • Enthusiasm for integrating AI and cutting-edge technologies in early childhood education
  • Willingness to work on-site in Austin, Texas
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

  • Advanced degree or certification in early childhood education or leadership
  • Dual expertise as a K-2 educator and a professional development facilitator
  • Proven success in implementing and scaling innovative educational methodologies
  • Track record of achieving exceptional results with both students and adults
