Enrollment Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed to drive numbers. This one is designed to safeguard quality.

Alpha is constructing one of the most rigorous school models globally. Our locations combine demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely achieve learning gains that surpass national norms, with measurable data supporting these results. Afternoons are dedicated to deeper exploration, autonomy, and practical competency development. The model delivers results. But success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your mandate.

You will manage the complete enrollment cycle for a campus, from initial inquiry to final onboarding. This is not a role where you pass families along. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how well they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices are made with full understanding. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when necessary. The objective is not filling seats. The objective is mutual fit.

We welcome candidates from high-caliber service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive admissions programs, five-star hospitality, executive concierge services, exclusive membership communities, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen sophisticated client relationships from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to manage an attentive, phased process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where credibility, confidentiality, and experiential excellence shape the brand, this role will resonate—just directed toward something that genuinely transforms lives.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are currently hiring in La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial outreach to final onboarding.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to evaluate compatibility before offering recommendations or advancing the process.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across various stages of enrollment, with transparent tracking of progress and scheduled follow-up.
  • Guiding campus visits, student shadow days, and decision-making discussions that articulate outcomes, standards, and ideal candidate profile.
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping in CRM and student information systems (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, task prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales techniques.
  • Accepting families who are poorly suited to the model simply to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or navigating complex bureaucratic hierarchies.
  • Handing off family relationships to other staff members.
  • Performing this work remotely. This role is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that converts well-matched families while safeguarding the quality and effectiveness of the Alpha educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, five-star hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or independently operated client services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact to final onboarding.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family accounts at varying stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization methodology.
  • Ability to offer specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you recommended against your own offering when alignment was lacking.
  • Professional writing experience communicating with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these California markets: La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, or South Bay.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive private school admissions or selective program enrollment.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or senior executive support.
  • Track record developing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
