Director of Admissions and Enrollment   $250,000 USD/year

Description

Many enrollment positions focus on maximizing volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses combine demanding academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated standards for both students and staff. Students routinely progress faster than national averages, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are reserved for depth, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model is effective. But its effectiveness depends entirely on enrolling the right families. That is your responsibility.

You will lead the admissions process for a campus, from initial application to final enrollment. This is not a delegated position. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how well they grasp the model, and whether enrollment decisions are made with the right alignment. You will evaluate fit, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and recommend against enrollment when appropriate. You will also cultivate local demand by establishing community connections, generating interest from qualified families, and driving measurable campus enrollment expansion. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to achieve sustainable growth with families who belong.

We welcome candidates from selective education, premium membership organizations, luxury hospitality, high-value service sectors, or owner-operated enterprises who have independently managed sophisticated client journeys from start to finish. Related premium-service or executive-support experience may qualify only when accompanied by verifiable evidence of demand generation, partnership development, or ownership of measurable growth results. If you blend discerning judgment with the ambition to represent a campus locally and expand its enrollment, this role will resonate.

What you will be doing

  • Leading the complete enrollment process for prospective families, from initial outreach to onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to evaluate fit prior to offering solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements at varying stages of the enrollment funnel, with transparent tracking of status and follow-through.
  • Conducting campus visits, shadow days, and decision-stage discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) current to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Enrolling poorly aligned families simply to meet a target.
  • Overseeing a large team or navigating complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing ownership of the family experience across multiple roles.
  • Working remotely. This position is campus-based by nature.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, highly selective enrollment process that secures the right families while safeguarding the integrity and performance of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service quality has a direct effect on brand reputation (education, luxury hospitality, premium membership, high-value services, or owner-operated businesses).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Proven ownership of enrollment expansion or a comparable high-value customer acquisition objective, including active lead generation, local market or community partnership development, and documented conversion or growth achievements.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships at various stages, supported by a clear tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to offer specific examples of consultative decision-making, including situations where you recommended against your product or service when the fit was poor.
  • Professional written communication background with senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or sophisticated audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: San Rafael (Marin County), CA; or Palo Alto, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or competitive program enrollment processes.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP guest relations, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Comfort leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
