Associate Director of Admissions   $250,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions positions prioritize volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the most forward-thinking school models globally. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely achieve learning gains that exceed national benchmarks, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are structured for depth, autonomy, and the cultivation of practical skills. The model delivers results. But it depends entirely on enrolling the right families. That's your responsibility.

You will manage the complete admissions experience for a campus, spanning application to enrollment. This is not a segmented function. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they comprehend the model, and whether enrollment decisions reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate informed discussions, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. You will also cultivate local interest by establishing community connections, generating qualified family inquiries, and driving measurable campus enrollment expansion. The objective is not enrollment maximization. The objective is sustainable growth anchored in family alignment.

We welcome candidates from selective education, premium membership services, luxury hospitality, high-value client services, or entrepreneurial ventures who have directly managed sophisticated client experiences from start to finish. Related premium-service or executive-support roles may qualify only when accompanied by documented evidence of demand generation, partnership development, or ownership of measurable growth metrics. If you blend refined judgment with the ambition to serve as the local ambassador of a campus and expand its enrollment, this position will resonate.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial inquiry through onboarding.
  • Facilitating diagnostic conversations to evaluate alignment before introducing solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various stages of the enrollment funnel, with transparent tracking of status and follow-through.
  • Delivering campus tours, student shadow experiences, and enrollment discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the ideal family profile.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families with poor fit solely to meet enrollment targets.
  • Supervising a large team or working through complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing ownership of the family journey across multiple staff members.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires on-campus presence.

Key responsibilities

Own and deliver a high-integrity, high-selectivity enrollment process that successfully enrolls aligned families while safeguarding the quality and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, premium membership, high-value services, or owner-operated businesses).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Proven ownership of enrollment expansion or a comparable high-value customer-acquisition objective, including active lead generation, local market or community partnership cultivation, and documented conversion or growth results.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family accounts at varying stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization methodology.
  • Ability to offer specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your product or service due to poor fit.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: San Rafael (Marin County), CA; or Palo Alto, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or enrollment for competitive programs.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or enhancing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to elevate conversion quality, not merely velocity.
