Head of Admissions   $250,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions professionals are tasked with maximizing enrollment numbers. This position exists to uphold quality and standards.

Alpha is developing one of the most forward-thinking school models globally. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely achieve learning velocity above national averages, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, autonomy, and practical skill development. The model is proven. But its success depends entirely on selecting the right families. That's your mandate.

You will control the complete admissions process for a campus, spanning initial application to final enrollment. This is not a coordination role. You are accountable for the family experience, the clarity with which they grasp the model, and ensuring enrollment decisions are made with full alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate substantive dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. You will also cultivate local demand by establishing community connections, attracting qualified families, and delivering measurable campus enrollment expansion. The objective is not enrollment volume. The objective is deliberate growth with aligned families.

We welcome candidates from selective education, premium membership organizations, luxury hospitality, high-value professional services, or owner-operated ventures who have independently managed sophisticated client relationships from end to end. Adjacent premium-service or executive-support experience qualifies only when accompanied by documented evidence of demand generation, partnership development, or ownership of measurable growth results. If you combine discerning judgment with the ambition to serve as the local representative of a campus and drive its enrollment growth, this role will resonate.

What you will be doing

  • Directing the complete enrollment lifecycle for prospective families, from initial inquiry to onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to assess compatibility before proposing solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements at varying stages of the enrollment cycle, with transparent tracking and timely follow-through.
  • Delivering campus tours, shadow day experiences, and enrollment discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the intended family profile.
  • Ensuring accuracy of CRM and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment simply to meet enrollment targets.
  • Supervising a large staff or navigating complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family journey across multiple team members.
  • Operating remotely. This role is on-campus by necessity.

Key responsibilities

Direct and deliver a high-integrity, high-selectivity enrollment process that successfully enrolls aligned families while safeguarding the quality and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, premium membership, high-value professional services, or owner-operated businesses).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial engagement through onboarding.
  • Proven ownership of enrollment expansion or comparable high-value customer-acquisition objectives, including proactive lead generation, local market or community partnership cultivation, and documented conversion or growth results.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships at distinct phases, supported by a robust tracking and prioritization methodology.
  • Capacity to supply specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your offering when misalignment existed.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth individuals, or discerning clients.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: San Rafael (Marin County), CA; or Palo Alto, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or competitive program recruitment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience developing or enhancing enrollment workflows, SOPs, or service standards.
  • Proficiency using data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
