Site Director   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site at an Alpha campus: Dallas, TX · Oklahoma City, OK · Austin, TX · Fort Worth, TX
  • $150,000/year W2 salary, paid weekly. Day-one health benefits.
  • Relocation support available

The most meaningful gift you can give a student who scored 99% is honest feedback that they fell short.

Not because flawlessness is the goal. Because genuine belief in someone's capacity to improve is among the most powerful forms of respect.

Traditional schools shield students from setbacks. Alpha equips them for achievement. We understand that confidence doesn't emerge from reduced expectations. It develops when students accomplish what they previously considered impossible. This conviction informs everything we do.

Our approach differs intentionally. Students progress through academics autonomously via AI-powered platforms, allowing adults to concentrate on transformational work: developing character, strengthening resilience, cultivating leadership, and establishing habits that produce remarkable results. We don't require adults to transmit information. We need leaders capable of unlocking potential in others.

This position anchors that mission. You'll cultivate the Guides who engage students directly, transforming them into outstanding coaches rather than traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills sessions that students recall years afterward. You'll analyze performance metrics to pinpoint where students or Guides need support and guide them toward excellence. You'll simultaneously lead your own student group, demonstrating the standards you uphold across your campus.

The impact multiplies rapidly. Each Guide you develop shapes dozens of students. Each enhancement you introduce to campus culture reverberates through hundreds of young lives. Success isn't defined by meeting attendance or report generation. It's determined by whether students become more confident, disciplined, resilient, and capable due to the environment you established.

This position isn't designed for someone committed to maintaining existing educational structures. It's intended for someone convinced that young people deserve more than obedience, attendance requirements, and mediocre standards. If you're motivated by coaching others through substantial challenges, leveraging data to inform superior decisions, and maintaining elevated expectations because you authentically believe others can reach them, this role will energize you.

Apply if you're prepared to establish a culture where excellence is the baseline, coaching transforms lives, and students uncover capabilities they never imagined possible.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and coach Guides to execute Alpha's coaching model with reliability, enthusiasm, and unwavering standards.
  • Facilitate compelling life skills workshops addressing communication, focus, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students using established playbooks.
  • Analyze student and Guide performance metrics to uncover coaching opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and generate measurable progress weekly.
  • Conduct motivation sessions that empower every student to embrace ambitious goals and consistently accomplish them.
  • Oversee your own student cohort while exemplifying the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction. Students advance through core academics autonomously via AI-powered learning platforms.
  • Developing lesson plans or curriculum materials. Your focus is outstanding coaching, not producing instructional content.
  • Controlling classrooms through lectures, worksheets, or behavior management systems. Students direct their learning, and you coach the practices that enable achievement.
  • Reducing standards to sidestep challenging discussions. Elevated expectations and authentic confidence in each student's capabilities are inseparable.
  • Defining success by actions rather than outcomes. Impact supersedes effort by itself.

Key responsibilities

Establish a coaching culture in which outstanding Guides reliably cultivate students who are passionate about school, achieve academic mastery at accelerated rates, and develop the resilience, leadership, and life skills necessary to thrive well beyond their school years.

Candidate requirements

  • Willing to work on campus in Dallas, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Austin, TX; or Fort Worth, TX (relocation support provided).
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
5+ years of experience leading adults in education, learning and development, youth leadership, coaching, or a comparable performance-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing a team of five or more people, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and difficult accountability conversations.
  • Experience working directly with children ages 5-14 in an educational, developmental, athletic, or youth leadership setting.
  • Track record of building, launching, scaling, or significantly improving a program, team, school, business, or initiative.
  • Proven ability to use performance metrics and data to diagnose problems, prioritize actions, and deliver measurable results.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience coaching athletics, leading outdoor or experiential education, directing camps, youth programs, or other cohort-based organizations.
  • Experience building or leading innovative education, EdTech, tutoring, nonprofit, or learning programs outside traditional classroom teaching.
  • Personal history of exceptional achievement in academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or leadership.
  • Strong conviction that education should develop capable, resilient, independent young people rather than simply deliver academic content.
