Curriculum Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

🚨 LOCATION ALERT: This is an on-site position at our Austin, Texas headquarters - no remote options available.

Ever seen a third-grader negotiate like a seasoned entrepreneur or a fifth-grader command a room with presentation skills that would impress a corporate executive? At Alpha Schools, these aren't exceptions—they're our standard. We're revolutionizing education by teaching life skills that traditional schools overlook, and we need your creative firepower to help us push boundaries even further.

As our Curriculum Designer, you'll harness next-generation AI tools to architect extraordinary learning experiences, test your innovations with actual students, and collaborate with forward-thinking education disruptors. You'll transcend traditional curriculum development by creating practical skill-building workshops that prepare children for real-world success. With substantial creative freedom and a results-driven approach, you'll use technology and continuous feedback loops to perfect your designs.

Ready to help children achieve what most adults think impossible? Join Alpha Schools and become part of the education revolution that's redefining what K-8 students can accomplish!

What you will be doing

  • Architect a groundbreaking K-8 life skills curriculum that transforms children into confident public speakers, compelling storytellers, budding entrepreneurs, and financially savvy individuals
  • Engineer robust assessment frameworks using standardized methodologies that accurately measure skill acquisition and mastery in these non-traditional educational domains
  • Field-test workshop prototypes with student groups, conducting hands-on observations and gathering multi-dimensional feedback to refine your designs through iterative improvement
  • Cultivate specialized expertise through immersion in research, pedagogical best practices, and emerging educational trends, synthesizing this knowledge into breakthrough approaches
  • Partner with our exceptional team to ensure workshop execution consistently exceeds expectations and delivers measurable learning outcomes

What you will NOT be doing

  • Crafting superficially engaging activities that prioritize fun over measurable skill development
  • Creating curriculum that underestimates children's remarkable capacity to master advanced concepts
  • Developing theoretical content disconnected from practical, real-world applications
  • Designing passive learning experiences where students merely absorb information
  • Creating assessments focused on academic knowledge retention rather than demonstrable skill mastery

Key responsibilities

Design and implement an exceptional, rigorous life skills curriculum that challenges conventional expectations of childhood capabilities, empowering students to perform at levels that astonish parents and educators alike while maintaining superior satisfaction metrics.

Candidate requirements

  • Commitment to working on-site at our dynamic Austin campus
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (we value diverse educational backgrounds)
  • Minimum 1 year experience designing educational experiences, workshops, or training programs in any field
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and apply qualitative feedback from program participants
  • Advanced proficiency with generative AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) with ability to independently leverage these technologies for project execution
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
