As an executive-level technical product owner, you will oversee the architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration of our learning system. Your role involves making strategic technical decisions to ensure our products remain lean, scalable, and laser-focused on enhancing student outcomes. You’ll combine the strategic thinking of a CTO with the entrepreneurial drive of a product innovator, merging engineering prowess with learning science insights to foster continuous breakthroughs.

What you will be doing

  • Providing expert guidance in education products to steer strategic decisions effectively
  • Crafting technical specifications that prioritize essential technical decisions, emphasizing simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Leveraging generative AI technologies to enhance and automate engineering processes, aligning with the strategic aim of minimizing manual effort

What you will NOT be doing

  • Engaging solely in people management; your role emphasizes business and technical expertise
  • Spending excessive time in meetings or on administrative tasks; we've streamlined management overhead to allow focus on generating business value through active engagement
  • Proposing high-level strategies without actionable implementation plans; your insights must be grounded in product-level understanding

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the CTO for one or more educational products, mastering core competencies and enhancing business value through strategic execution and decision-making

Candidate requirements

  • Profound experience and interest in data-driven learning science
  • Over 7 years of expertise in making critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the use of architecture design patterns and significant open-source technologies
  • More than 2 years of experience with design decisions related to cloud computing services, mainly AWS
  • 4+ years in roles with full technical and delivery ownership on revenue-generating products
  • Proficiency in building product features utilizing Generative AI
  • Experience in employing Generative AI to streamline work processes
