Director of Product Management   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Join 2 Hour Learning as a catalyst for change in education, where your leadership in AI and innovation ignites student success.

Embark on a journey to transform traditional learning paradigms with our sophisticated AI-driven ecosystem, designed to accelerate student achievements. We're at the dawn of a new era in education, and your role is pivotal.

This position is perfect for those who excel at merging technology with creativity and empathy. You will not only lead but also actively participate in creation. Whether it's leveraging generative AI to craft prototypes, automating processes to enhance student experiences, or utilizing Python with AI tools, your involvement will be hands-on.

Engage with the educational community—students, educators, and administrators—to deeply understand their needs and develop customized solutions. Your insights will be gained from direct interactions and practical experiences, bypassing traditional focus groups and reports.

Why this role will excite you:

  • Innovative hands-on work: This role is about tangible results, building, iterating, and delivering impactful solutions.
  • Independence and responsibility: Lead projects from conception to completion with full accountability.
  • AI as your ally: Utilize state-of-the-art AI tools daily for prototyping and code generation.

If you possess the strategic vision of a product leader combined with the practical skills of a creator, seize this opportunity to revolutionize education through AI.

What you will be doing

  • Engage directly with users: Establish meaningful connections with students and staff to identify genuine challenges and opportunities.
  • Prototype and develop: Employ tools such as Devin, Cursor, and other generative AI platforms to swiftly experiment, validate, and refine concepts.
  • Manage the product lifecycle: Oversee products from conception to launch, ensuring they achieve significant student success and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively: Lead outsourced development teams, guiding them through a clear roadmap while upholding high standards.
  • Innovate continuously: Stay abreast of the latest in learning science and AI to consistently push the envelope.

What you will NOT be doing

  • This role isn't for those who prefer delegating and observing from a distance. It's for active builders.
  • Making minor tweaks; our focus is on groundbreaking advancements, not small changes.
  • Navigating strict hierarchies; instead, you'll flourish in a flexible environment where everyone is hands-on.

Key responsibilities

Deliver educational products and experiences powered by AI that significantly boost student engagement, effectiveness, and satisfaction.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven impact in product development: A track record of delivering innovative, user-focused products that achieve substantial results (e.g., adoption rates, satisfaction scores, or key metrics).
  • Technical proficiency: Ability to use Python with AI-assisted tools for prototyping and problem-solving. Coding experience isn't required, but a strong ability to learn and apply technical tools is crucial.
  • Expertise in generative AI: Experience with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Cursor, Devin, ClickUp) for ideation, prototyping, and automating workflows.
  • User research skills: Ability to gather raw user feedback through interviews, direct observation, or other methods and convert it into actionable product improvements.
  • Data-driven approach: Expertise in analyzing data, spotting trends, and making informed product decisions that lead to measurable improvements.
  • Leadership experience: Proven history of guiding development teams to align with the product vision while maintaining quality standards.
  • Exceptional communication: Ability to give clear, actionable feedback and ensure alignment across diverse stakeholders through precise written and verbal communication.
