What you will be doing

  • Leading Workshops: Providing compelling content and coaching students on essential life skills such as public speaking, focus, and the art of giving and receiving feedback.
  • Holding daily Motivation Sessions: Empower students to develop a positive mindset and set the tone for their daily learning as they progress.
  • Cultivate student success: Utilize our proven playbooks to ensure that all students achieve their academic goals and master core life skills.
  • Exploring the latest tech tools: From adaptive learning apps to ChatGPT, you'll embrace Alpha's spirit of innovation and experiment to find ways to develop a love of writing and literature.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Teaching or tutoring. Students learn solely from self-guided, adaptive learning apps.
  • Leading traditional lectures that students find boring or lack interaction.
  • Pushing kids to the point of burnout or disengagement.

  • 100% of students master core life skills, as measured by real-world challenges

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, creative writing, literature, or a related field.
  • Experience performing at an elite level (Division 1 sports, Presidential Scholar, etc.)
  • A desire to connect, inspire, and motivate high school students
  • Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to work in-person in Austin, TX
