Alpha is building the Stanford of K-12 education. We are a private equity-backed EdTech startup with a life-changing value proposition for students and plans to expand rapidly. We make three promises to students and their families: students will love school, learn 2x faster through adaptive learning apps and learning science principles, and learn valuable life skills to supplement their academic training.

In this role, you will ensure a safe & productive experience for high-school students who stay late after school. This is a part-time role where you will monitor students, ensure they exit the school safely, and close the school each evening.

Because our students take ownership of their own learning, you aren't responsible for monitoring homework during afterschool. You'll focus instead on reviewing academic data and analyzing it for trends and insights.

What you will be doing

  • Monitoring student safety
  • Opening and closing the school each day
  • Analyzing student academic data
  • Serving as a proctor for student exams scheduled during afterschool hours

What you will NOT be doing

  • Tutoring or offering academic assistance
  • Babysitting students
  • Planning activities, games, or busywork to entertain students

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and engaging student experience after normal school hours

Candidate requirements

  • Willingness to work in Austin, TX
  • Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship 
  • Availability to work from 4 - 8 pm Monday - Friday
  • 3 years of professional experience analyzing data (internships and coursework are acceptable)

Nice to have

Experience as a test/exam proctor is a plus, but not required.
