In most weeks, you'll conduct high-stakes intervention sessions. The remainder, you'll facilitate brief motivational touchpoints that sustain momentum and help students reach milestones. This position fits individuals who value independence, rapid feedback, and visible results. It's not suitable for those seeking rigid lesson plans or hesitant to engage with performance metrics.

What you will be doing

  • Plan and facilitate virtual one-on-one and small-group reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3–8
  • Leverage reading assessment data to pinpoint fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction promptly
  • Adapt activities across varied reading levels, providing targeted support for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
  • Monitor progress systematically and apply the insights to inform subsequent sessions
  • Lead structured motivational touchpoints that foster confidence, resilience, and pride in achievement

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver large, full-class lessons or present from a rigid curriculum
  • Execute a scripted program without tailoring to student requirements and live feedback
  • Serve as a passive "software supervisor" lacking genuine instruction and rapport
  • Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation

Key responsibilities

Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through personalized virtual interventions and motivational engagement that strengthens confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
  • Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
  • Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
  • Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
  • Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
