In most weeks, you'll deliver focused intervention sessions. In others, you'll facilitate brief motivational touchpoints that keep students aligned and goal-oriented. This position is suited to people who value independence, rapid feedback, and visible results. It's not for those who prefer fixed scripts or avoid working with data.

What you will be doing
- Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
- Analyze reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction accordingly
- Adapt instructional activities across a range of reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and related reading challenges
- Monitor progress with clarity and consistency, using findings to inform subsequent sessions
- Facilitate structured motivational conversations that foster confidence, perseverance, and pride in achievement
What you will NOT be doing
- Deliver large, whole-class instruction or present from a rigid curriculum
- Execute a pre-written program without tailoring to individual student needs and live feedback
- Serve as a passive "software monitor" lacking substantive instruction and personal connection
- Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation
Key responsibilities
Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through delivery of individualized virtual interventions and motivational guidance that strengthens confidence.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
- Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
- Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
- At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
- Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
- Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
- Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
- Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
