Client Experience Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions professionals focus on filling seats. This role is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the most rigorous school models in existence. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-driven instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely achieve learning gains that exceed national averages, supported by measurable evidence. Afternoons are reserved for deeper exploration, independent work, and practical skill development. The model is effective. But its success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your responsibility.

You will manage the complete admissions process for a campus, from initial application to final enrollment. This is not a role where you pass families to others. You are accountable for the family experience, the clarity with which they understand our approach, and whether their enrollment decision is rooted in genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not maximizing numbers. The objective is ensuring mutual fit.

We welcome applicants from elite service sectors outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen premium client relationships from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a sophisticated, multi-phase process with discernment, transparency, and discipline.

If your career has been defined by delivering exceptional service in contexts where trust, professionalism, and client experience shape brand reputation, this position will resonate with you—just directed toward work that produces measurable impact.

This is a salaried, full-time, on-campus position. We are currently hiring for La Jolla, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Santa Monica. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, beginning with first interaction and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to assess alignment before offering recommendations or advancing to subsequent steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships at varying stages of the admissions cycle, maintaining precise tracking and follow-up protocols.
  • Delivering campus tours, student shadow visits, and enrollment discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the model's ideal audience.
  • Ensuring CRM and student information system data (HubSpot and SIS) remain current to enable accurate forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment in order to meet enrollment targets.
  • Supervising a large staff or navigating complex organizational hierarchies.
  • Handing off responsibility for family engagement to other team members.
  • Operating remotely. This position is inherently campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that successfully enrolls well-matched families while safeguarding the quality and outcomes of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where client experience directly influences brand standing (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership, or owner-managed services).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial inquiry through final onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ client, guest, or family accounts concurrently at various stages, supported by an organized tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to supply specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional writing experience communicating with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; or Santa Monica, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive private school admissions or selective program recruitment.
  • Background in high-end hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support functions.
  • Experience developing or improving admissions workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Comfort leveraging CRM data and analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely velocity.
