Description

Families at Alpha Miami rely on trusted advisors across every facet of their lives. Until now, they've lacked one for this.

You will be the individual they reach out to in moments of uncertainty, when something doesn't feel quite right, or when they want to share an experience they trust you'll appreciate. You'll develop enough familiarity with each family to know what they need before they articulate it—and you'll possess the judgment and composure to address whatever they bring with discretion, warmth, and apparent ease. Over time, you won't simply be associated with their child's education. You'll become woven into how they remember this phase of their family's journey.

The private school landscape in Miami is compact, tightly networked, and unforgiving when things go wrong. A family's time at Alpha extends beyond the campus—it circulates through the circles that count: residential buildings, private clubs, yachts, charity galas, and WhatsApp threads that influence where other families enroll. You'll grasp this reality intuitively, because your career has unfolded in environments where reputation is the sole currency and a single error outlives every success. You'll cultivate a community families want to protect, where inclusion feels natural and word-of-mouth advocacy arises from earned excellence.

Miami is inherently international. You'll engage with families from Latin America, multinational executives, finance and technology professionals who've recently relocated to Miami, and globally mobile households whose views on education—and institutions more broadly—are informed by experiences well beyond the American independent school model. Many navigate between Miami, São Paulo, Bogotá, Madrid, and New York as fluidly as others commute locally, and they will compare Alpha to alternatives anywhere on the planet. The ideal candidate will be equally adept at managing cross-cultural family expectations—and the requirement for seamless, authentic relationships—as they are at navigating the established contours of Miami's private school community.

Alpha operates outside traditional schooling models. Students complete foundational academics in two hours daily through AI-driven applications, then dedicate remaining time to public speaking, critical reasoning, and applied projects. No conventional lectures. No filler assignments. Top 1% outcomes on a national scale.

The families selecting Alpha have made a deliberate choice—and in a city where opinions are abundant and educational decisions signal status, they will face constant scrutiny. You'll ensure they never struggle for a response. If sustaining that conviction through years of refined, internationally informed skepticism feels burdensome, this position isn't suitable. If it represents the most compelling dialogue you could facilitate, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Shape the cultural identity of the school community—establishing the tone, rituals, and implicit standards that foster belonging—so Alpha becomes a place families take pride in, not merely a school they selected
  • Manage the full parent relationship lifecycle—from initial inquiry through enrollment, retention, and sustained advocacy—ensuring faculty remain student-focused while families always have a trusted point of contact
  • Detect early signals when something is amiss, and address them with the discretion and judgment that preserve trust—including the more difficult assessment of when a family is not the right match
  • Maintain visibility where families gather: morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, evening functions, and the spontaneous exchanges that carry the greatest weight
  • Cultivate a community that both local and international families feel invested in protecting—and where referrals emerge organically because the experience justifies them
  • Communicate Alpha's narrative persuasively—in individual discussions, at gatherings, and within the circles of discerning, globally oriented families where the school's standing is truly established

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating from behind a desk—your visibility within the community defines the role
  • Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early starts, late afternoons, and evening commitments are intrinsic to the position, not occasional demands
  • Escalating challenging parent conversations to faculty or administration—you own these interactions entirely
  • Depending on administrative infrastructure, established workflows, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and construct what is necessary
  • Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role values authentic engagement, not procedural adherence

Key responsibilities

Serve as the central trusted relationship for every family's experience at Alpha's Miami campus, and the architect of the surrounding community culture. Maintain their confidence during challenging periods, define the traditions and atmosphere that make belonging feel meaningful, and establish the conditions under which satisfied families become active advocates within the networks that influence Miami's private school environment.

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years building and sustaining trust with high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families in a high-touch, relationship-centered capacity
  • Demonstrated success guiding sophisticated clients through consequential decisions—with measurable outcomes you can reference: conversion rates, retention figures, referral volume
  • The discretion and poise to navigate sensitive, confidential matters without leaving evidence of strain
  • Proven experience managing and developing personnel—providing coaching, maintaining high standards, and executing difficult staffing decisions—beyond simply managing relationships or client portfolios
  • Innate cross-cultural competence with both globally mobile and established Miami family communities
  • AI-native orientation—you employ AI tools fluently, understand their strengths and limitations, and proactively identify superior alternatives, even if you aren't building them yourself
  • Located in Miami, available for full-time on-site engagement, and comfortable with variable hours
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background as a head of school, principal, superintendent, or in an equivalent educational leadership position
  • Professional-level fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Personal or professional exposure to independent or non-traditional educational models
  • Established connections within Miami's private school parent communities
  • Experience working with internationally mobile, Latin American, or globally connected family populations
  • A personal network extending across the neighborhoods, clubs, and institutions where Alpha's families reside and make decisions
