WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Expectations:

Supporting the administration of all NetSuite applications deployed at ESW Capital currently, and in the future. This includes process improvement, support and maintenance involving:

  • Developing expertise across our Netsuite ERP system and contributing to rollouts

  • Ensuring the required level of service for system availability, user access, access resolution as well as regular support

 
BOOTCAMP PROGRAM

To be considered for this position you are required to take part in a mandatory training series and tests included in our 4-week Bootcamp program.

After grading your tests, you will be eligible to take the Bootcamp which is usually held within a week of obtaining your test results. You will be paid the full-time rate for 40 hours per week for four weeks.

Once the Bootcamp tests are complete, we will be able to evaluate you for the position correctly. Bootcamp is a very tough training program, and only an average of 50% of attendees can finish it. Taking the Bootcamp doesn’t guarantee that you will be hired, but it is a requirement as part of the hiring process.
ONLINE HIRING EVENT



A hiring event is a scheduled online event where all our relevant testing relating to a role is conducted on the same day. Submissions received during the event are graded the following week, and successful candidates notified if they have progressed to the next round which is an online interview with a Hiring Manager.

 
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary point of contact for NetSuite support; providing internal ongoing support, resolving access issues

Working knowledge NetSuite's Cloud / SaaS-based business software systems (ERP/ CRM)

Experience in training and providing client support within the NetSuite environment

Technical experience in understanding the NetSuite framework and requirements

Analyzing complex business problems and assessing how automated systems can be implemented to solve them

Gathering data and analyzing business and user needs in consultation with both the business manager and end users

Ensure business and functional requirements are properly configured in NetSuite

Performing functional configuration and maintenance for systems based on changing operational and business needs

Research transactional issues, identifying root causes and driving resolutions

Support research, analysis, and development of new concepts and emerging technologies

Assist all departments with data analysis and reporting needs

Maintain proper system access for all roles

Support end user requests for new searches, reports, KPIs, dashboards

Develop, test and deploy customizations, custom objects, new functionality and SuiteApps based on evolving business needs

Work directly with the in-house development team or third-party vendors to develop, test and deploy custom application extensions using system API and third-party tools

Configure NetSuite using forms, fields, custom records and workflows to manage unique business process requirements

Develop and implement policies, procedures, workflows, and guidelines to ensure data integrity

Perform regular data audits and resolve identified issues

Manage Release Preview business process testing for ongoing NetSuite upgrades

 
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

1-3 years of experience as a hands-on Netsuite software engineer

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Experience in training and providing client support within the NetSuite environment

Technical experience in understanding the NetSuite framework and requirements

Proficiency in the following skills and technologies is mandatory: Netsuite ERP

Very good at technology troubleshooting. The ability to research and troubleshoot is a must

Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Must be very organized and able to keep a lot of information organized in an easy to access system

Can adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and adapt and react quickly to changes and deadlines

Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to write organized, maintainable code

  • How do you perform in the role of VP of engineering when all your teams are remote?

    We use communication tools such as GoToMeeting, Zoom, Skype, and Slack. We also ensure that our processes are well documented in the form of playbooks and have developed a tool, Worksmart Pro, which enables us to keep track of time and applications used. This data allows us to form a diary of how our partners spend their day and coach them on improved productivity.

  • Do you use Agile?

    Like most organizations, we make use of subsets of Agile. The one key difference though is that our teams are highly specialized in the task they do. For example, we have a maintenance team whose only task is to fix bugs on our products. Rather than being product specialists they are process specialists.

  • Do VPs of Engineering actually do hands-on coding in this role?

    No, there is no hands-on work, however, we want people who have been developers in the past. We believe that the best way you can help and communicate with your teams is if you have experienced technical problems yourself.

  • Does a VP of Engineering need to travel in his role?
