The Vice President of Professional Services is a customer-facing, senior-level role for someone with extensive experience leading technical teams in complex engagements with customers. Candidates for this position will have proven success in management consulting and/or professional services leadership roles with a strong background in enterprise software services. You must have the experience to establish deep, accountable relationships with senior leaders at our customers, and the technical depth to dive in across functions with our Project Management, Product, Engineering and Support teams. Working with 3-5 Project Managers, you’ll lead and drive productivity for a total team size of about 30-50 people and deliver projects valued at $5-10M in annual services revenue. This position has accountability for customer retention and services delivery to maximize customer success to increase revenues.

Expectations

  • As VP of Services, you will lead a cross-functional team of management and technical consultants and interlock with your Software Project Managers to ensure that engagements are properly defined and their scope effectively communicated to the customer. You will ensure that appropriate, qualified resources are allocated and all facets of the team’s work is delivered according to the defined workflow in a professional and extraordinary manner.

  • You will be expected to work with your teams to identify, design and implement the best approaches to deliver turnkey services solutions to our Fortune 500 and Global 2000 customers.

  • You will work as part of a highly collaborative team, iterating on your work and providing peer review to teammates.

  • You should be a clear and organized thinker, able to find the important patterns in work and focus on the “big picture” without being lost in the details. The customer is your boss, and will determine your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and manage a Crossover-based team of 3-5 Software Project Managers

  • Deliver projects worth $5-10M/yr with a Crossover-based team of ~30-50 people

  • Using Crossover’s software-based metric measurement, improve processes, staffing, and productivity in order to deliver customer success on every project, while achieving productivity improvements of 25% QOQ

  • Create and manage engagement plans to help customers implement our software and services (includes activities such as kickoffs, implementation, data integration, facilitation of ongoing planning/forecasting processes, and delivery of periodic executive level guidance on project decisions)

  • Be creative in appointing the right resource from the cross-functional organization, encouraging and managing the team to deliver success both technically, and personally

  • Continually assess the extent to which each customer is realizing the full potential of their engagement with our software and services, working with them to increase value over time

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management or similar disciplines required.

  • 10-15 years of related work experience, including managing technical engagements from concept to delivery in enterprise technology settings

  • PMI issued PMP certification desired, with experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Demonstrated experience in crafting complex Statements of Work (SOWs) that are flush with sufficient detail to drive requirements, and effectively define customer acceptance criteria

  • Past, hands-on experience in actual fulfillment of technology implementations; while you won't be hands-on in this position, knowing how to roll up your sleeves with your staff is imperative

  • Ability to focus and block out distractions in order to lock-in on a customer need, develop a solution and build confidence with stakeholders

  • Skilled at working with technical architects, engineers and developers to influence and guide their communications, customer skills and technical delivery outcomes

  • Passion for coaching, managing, and developing people

HOW DO I APPLY?

Step 1: Online Application

Start your application by creating an account and profile with Crossover, then uploading your resume and confirming your email address. From there, the Crossover platform will guide you through the remaining steps.

Step 2: Take the English and Fundamentals Test

We have a series of multiple-choice tests to check for the knowledge and skills needed for the role and an English exam where we ask candidates to upload a 2-3 minute audio submission. After this stage, you will receive an email invitation to the next step in the application process.


Step 3: Free Response Questions and CCAT Testing

In this step, we will ask you a series of free response questions that will simulate scenarios you are likely to encounter in the role. We find both the willingness to invest this time – coupled with the insights we derive from the answers – help us find the truly capable and passionate candidates. You may also be asked to make a presentation of your answers to demonstrate your communication skills. The free response section is an opportunity to preview the type of work you would be doing in the role and demonstrate your technical skills and abilities to hiring managers. The last free response question will invite you to complete CCAT testing. The CCAT measures cognitive aptitude or general intelligence, and tests an ability to solve problems, digest and apply information, learn new skills, and think critically.


Step 4: Join the Interview

The final step of the evaluation process is the marketplace interview. One of our hiring manager evaluators will speak with you on a video call to understand if you're the best fit for the position. In addition to technical and business questions about your current and previous roles and achievements, you may be asked about the answers you gave in your free response questions.


Step 5: Meet the Customer and Get Hired

If you successfully pass all stages of the evaluation process, you will have the opportunity to talk with hiring managers about the positions that are currently available. This is intended to be a two-way discussion where you can ask questions about the team, product, metrics, roadmap, etc. You can interview with as many hiring managers as desired and make the decision on which company or team best fits your interests and career goals.
