What you will be doing

  • Spearhead the evolution of our AWS infrastructure, implementing cutting-edge best practices and automation
  • Architect and deploy advanced monitoring solutions that provide unparalleled visibility into our complex systems
  • Develop powerful tools and automation to dramatically enhance reliability and slash operational overhead
  • Lead technical due diligence during acquisitions, rapidly mastering inherited systems and driving strategic improvements
  • Independently tackle and resolve the most challenging infrastructure issues, crafting innovative solutions where standard approaches fall short

What you will NOT be doing

  • Drowning in endless status meetings and Jira tickets - we empower our architects to drive solutions, not just track issues
  • Maintaining legacy systems indefinitely - you'll have the mandate to implement transformative improvements
  • Navigating bureaucratic approval processes - you'll have the authority to execute critical fixes swiftly
  • Getting pigeonholed into narrow technical specialties - this role demands both breadth and depth of expertise
  • Battling for resources to implement essential infrastructure upgrades - we prioritize investment in our cloud ecosystem

Key responsibilities

Transform the reliability and standardization of our cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio by implementing state-of-the-art monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven mastery of AWS infrastructure (our primary platform - alternative cloud experience alone is insufficient)
  • Advanced programming skills in Python/JavaScript for developing sophisticated automation and tooling
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes in large-scale production environments
  • Demonstrated success in implementing comprehensive, enterprise-grade monitoring solutions
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Expert-level Linux systems administration skills
  • Ability to manage on-call responsibilities and perform rapid, high-stakes troubleshooting as part of regular duties
