Description

Elite Engineers Only: Architect the Future of AI-Powered Education

As a Principal Software Engineer, you'll command the technical destiny of revolutionary learning products that are changing how students engage with knowledge. Your architectural decisions and code will directly shape products used by thousands of students while giving you unprecedented autonomy to innovate at the intersection of education and cutting-edge AI.

Our suite of transformative learning products includes TeachTap's AI-powered historical figures, TeachTales' personalized storytelling engine, TimeBack's proactive learning copilot, and Athena's outcome-driven AI video platform. Each represents an opportunity to solve complex technical challenges while creating measurable impact on educational outcomes.

What you will be doing

  • Engineer High-Impact Features - Design and implement core product capabilities with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and long-term strategic value.
  • Drive Technical Requirements - Collaborate with product teams to translate business needs into precise technical specifications, leading discussions that align engineering efforts with product vision.
  • Ensure Operational Excellence - Monitor system performance, implement proactive optimizations, and maintain exceptional product stability through sophisticated technical solutions.
  • Make Decisive Technical Choices - Own high-stakes architectural decisions that directly impact user experience, product scalability, and engineering efficiency.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Chasing Technological Fads - We prioritize strategic technical decisions over jumping between trendy frameworks or short-term projects without lasting impact.
  • Supporting Legacy Systems - Your talents won't be wasted on maintaining internal IT infrastructure or working on outsourced projects disconnected from our core mission.
  • Drowning in Bureaucracy - We've eliminated unnecessary meetings and automated infrastructure management so you can focus on solving meaningful technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

Transform complex educational challenges into elegant technical solutions that scale reliably, enabling thousands of students to experience personalized, AI-enhanced learning that delivers measurable academic improvement.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of demonstrated full-stack development expertise across frontend and backend systems.
  • At least 2 years as the principal technical decision-maker for a SaaS product, with proven ability to drive strategic architectural choices.
  • 4+ years working directly on customer-facing SaaS products (not internal tools or outsourced projects).
  • Practical experience integrating generative AI technologies into your development workflow and product solutions.
