Description

Trilogy is in search of a QA Engineer with automation and mobile experience to join our team, with the focus on driving quality into a new innovative educational mobile app, TeachTap. Our app uses GenAI to bring historical figures to life as teachers, making learning as engaging as TikTok. With a fun, social, and addictive learning experience, students can learn ten times faster than traditional programs.

In this position, you will be an integral part of the team developing TeachTap, which is a cross-platform mobile app built with React Native. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring the quality of newly built features through both manual and automated testing. This includes conducting exploratory tests to identify bugs once a story has been shipped by our engineers, executing regression tests to uncover any regressions, and strategically automating tests.

A significant part of your role will involve documenting any discovered bugs, complete with reproduction steps and initial severity assessment. Based on your work, the rest of the engineering team will prioritize and rectify the issues. We are at the beginning of TeachTap’s journey, and although we recently adopted Appium to automate tests, we welcome your insights to enhance and streamline our regression testing setup. You'll have the autonomy to suggest improvements and implement more efficient testing strategies, playing a key role in improving the quality of the product.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting exploratory tests on newly released features to identify any bugs.
  • Performing regression testing to ensure that new updates do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
  • Automating tests to promptly identify future regressions, enhancing the efficiency of our QA processes.
  • Documenting defects in our ticketing system with comprehensive reproduction steps, and initial severity assessment.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Focusing on unit/integration testing; your role is centered around automated and manual end-to-end testing.
  • Working in a static technical environment; we advocate for continuous improvement in methodologies and tools.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest quality of our app by meticulously testing new features and updates.
  • Maintain an efficient regression testing suite, using automation where needed.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to understand changes, identify potential areas of risk, and expedite solving detected issues.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in professional QA testing of software products.
  • At least 2 years of experience in professional QA testing of a cross-platform mobile application (iOS and Android).
