Dean of Parents   $400,000 USD/year

Description

If you've ever looked at a group of skeptical, demanding stakeholders and thought, "I can't wait to turn them into my biggest champions" - we should talk.

We're looking for a powerhouse communicator who can transform parents into passionate champions for an educational revolution.

2 Hour Learning is dramatically reimagining education: replacing traditional 6-hour school days with 2 hours of AI-powered learning. But revolutionary ideas face sophisticated resistance. We need someone with the gravitas to convince accomplished, demanding parents to bet their children's futures on our vision.

This role demands someone who radiates executive presence - equally commanding in the boardroom, on camera, or leading high-stakes parent meetings. You're the person everyone turns to when the stakes are highest: whether it's presenting to the board, handling media interviews, or turning a PR crisis into an opportunity to demonstrate value.

You thrive on transforming critics into advocates because you understand that resistance isn't a problem - it's an opportunity to showcase transformative impact. You believe maintaining uncompromising standards builds credibility. Most importantly, you know how to build and scale advocacy movements that turn individual wins into systematic change.

If you've built your career on the ability to command a room, shape narratives, and transform skeptics into evangelists - let's talk about leading the revolution in education.

What you will be doing

  • Commanding high-stakes presentations and conversations that convert sophisticated skeptics into advocates
  • Building and activating networks of influential parent champions who drive our narrative in their communities
  • Designing scalable systems that turn individual parent wins into compelling proof points and advocacy opportunities
  • Building sophisticated feedback systems that capture parent sentiment early and turn potential issues into advocacy opportunities
  • Leading critical media interactions and shaping public narratives around our revolutionary approach
  • Creating and seizing strategic opportunities to showcase our transformative impact

What you will NOT be doing

  • Running traditional parent-teacher associations or school improvement committees
  • Planning social events without strategic advocacy goals
  • Making exceptions to our educational model to please influential parents
  • Reacting to concerns instead of proactively shaping the narrative

Key responsibilities

Transform our parent community into our most powerful advocacy engine by building systematic approaches that scale parent champions across campuses while maintaining our uncompromising commitment to educational excellence.

Candidate requirements

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX
  • 7+ years converting influential stakeholders or skeptics into advocates (e.g., Head of Customer Advocacy, Chief Communications Officer, Chief Development Officer working with major donors, VP of Enterprise Sales, Director of Community Relations, or Change Management Consultant)
  • Exceptional executive presence and proven ability to command sophisticated audiences
  • Track record of high-stakes communications (media appearances, board presentations, crisis management)
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling advocacy communities from scratch
  • Proven ability to uphold policies with powerful stakeholders while strengthening relationships and maintaining organizational standards
  • Deep conviction that transforming education requires standing firm on innovative methods

What you will learn

While we need your proven expertise in building influential communities and navigating complex stakeholder relationships, you'll be applying these skills at the bleeding edge of educational transformation. You'll help pioneer how AI revolutionizes K-12 education, shape how parents and educators reimagine learning, and be at the forefront of the most significant change in education delivery since the invention of the classroom. If you're excited by working at the intersection of transformative technology and educational excellence, you'll get to write the playbook for how forward-thinking schools build parent advocacy in the AI age.

Work examples

The potential impact of this role is best illustrated through what success will look like:

After a challenging parent meeting where an accomplished CEO mother questioned our unconventional schedule, you not only addressed her concerns but so thoroughly demonstrated the transformative potential of our model that she became one of our most vocal champions. Now she's hosting dinner parties where she convinces other skeptical parents to embrace our approach, sharing concrete examples of how her daughter has thrived.

When a group of concerned parents started a WhatsApp group about AI's role in education, you didn't just react - you got ahead of it. You created a compelling presentation incorporating parent success stories and research data, delivered it with such command that it was recorded and shared widely, turning a potential crisis into a powerful advocacy moment. Parents now routinely share that video with friends considering our school.

Your systematic approach to parent engagement means you've built a network of parent advocates across every grade level. When a new family tours the school, they don't just hear from staff - they meet with current parents who articulately champion our model. You've created such effective advocacy systems that parents independently organize information sessions in their communities.

Most importantly, when parents call with concerns (as sophisticated, invested parents always will), you don't just resolve issues - you systematically transform these moments into opportunities to strengthen conviction in our model. Your executive presence and strategic approach mean you're not just maintaining parent relationships - you're building and scaling a movement of parents who are betting their children's futures on an educational revolution.

Success means building communities where parents become our most powerful advocates because they've seen what's possible when we revolutionize education. They're not just accepting our approach - they're championing it to their networks, helping drive growth across our campuses, and partnering with us to push education forward.
