Instructional Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

At 2 Hour Learning, we are redefining how students engage with the world's stories—from the evolution of civilizations to the intricate relationships between cultures and landscapes. Our mission is to create learning experiences that spark genuine curiosity and lasting comprehension.

We are seeking a skilled professional to transform social studies instruction through AI-enhanced methodology. Your challenge will be to accelerate mastery of history and geography, making the sweep of human experience and the complexity of our planet as compelling as any modern narrative. If you're ready to reimagine how students connect with the past and the world, this role offers that platform.

What you will be doing

  • Leveraging AI technology to create interactive simulations that render historical events and geographical concepts concrete and lasting for learners.
  • Examining learning analytics to identify trends that shape adaptive learning paths, tailoring each student's experience for maximum engagement and efficacy.
  • Building advanced digital tools that animate historical narratives and global terrain, from time-travel experiences to deep cultural immersions.
  • Working with cross-functional teams of educators and technical specialists to pioneer fresh methods that transform social studies instruction.
  • Converting intricate historical and geographic material into accessible, compelling content enriched by AI-powered customization.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Overseeing conventional curriculum frameworks or handling routine administrative tasks—this position centers on innovation and tangible educational outcomes.
  • Working in isolation—you will collaborate with dedicated professionals focused on advancing the field.
  • Relying on conventional textbook approaches—your contributions will fundamentally change how students interact with history and geography.

Key responsibilities

Achieve quantifiable gains in student comprehension of social studies material, doubling the rate at which learners absorb core historical and geographic principles through advanced, AI-powered instructional design.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in History, Geography, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience teaching or developing social studies curricula, with demonstrable results in improving student outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Experience with AI applications in education, such as content creation, adaptive learning, or data analysis.
  • Outstanding communication skills to translate complex social studies topics into engaging narratives.
