Head of Admissions   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions professionals are brought on to maintain the status quo. Your mandate will be to dismantle it and build something more effective in its place.

2 Hour Learning condenses a traditional full school day into two hours through AI-powered, mastery-based applications. There are no teachers, no lectures, and no wasted instructional time. Our students achieve learning outcomes at 2.6 times the national average—validated by MAP assessment data. Afternoons are dedicated to life skills development, personal growth initiatives, and substantive project work. This represents more than an alternative approach to education. It is a faster, more rigorous, high-impact system that produces top 1% academic performance in half the time.

Your role is critical to this model. You will oversee the complete admissions cycle for one of our campuses—either in Dallas or San Francisco—with full autonomy over your enrollment pipeline. No bureaucratic layers. No task handoffs. No unnecessary complexity. You will convert interest into commitment through rapid engagement, transparent outcomes, compelling campus visits, and discerning candidate evaluation. You will be the deciding factor in whether families choose a school that operates unlike anything they've encountered before.

If you are driven by urgency, substance, and the opportunity to represent a superior offering rather than abstract ideals, this position is for you.

What you will be doing

  • Replying to incoming inquiries within 4 hours using tailored, substantive communication that never reads as templated.
  • Conducting campus tours and informational events that demonstrate precisely how and why our instructional model accelerates learning, and for whom it is designed.
  • Managing the entire admissions process end-to-end, from initial applications and shadow visits through final enrollment decisions and family onboarding.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date CRM and student information system records for weekly performance review, particularly within HubSpot.
  • Continuously improving admissions materials, standard operating procedures, and frequently asked questions based on live parent feedback and conversion metrics.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Supervising staff. This role is intentionally designed as an individual contributor position.
  • Working through bureaucratic obstacles. We operate at the velocity of a startup, not a traditional school administration.
  • Attempting to enroll every applicant. Our educational model is not suited to all families, and your responsibility is to identify the right fit.
  • Downplaying our distinctiveness. Our measurable results carry more weight than conventional educational norms.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires on-campus presence and attendance at occasional local events.

Key responsibilities

Own and continuously refine the admissions process to convert qualified prospects into enrolled families. Build and sustain a high-conversion, highly selective pipeline that mirrors the precision and outcomes of the 2 Hour Learning educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing full-cycle admissions at a competitive, tuition-based academic institution
  • Demonstrated track record of success in selective enrollment management from initial inquiry through final enrollment decision
  • Outstanding communication abilities across written correspondence, public presentation, and individual consultation
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with high-net-worth families and sophisticated decision-makers
  • Strong organizational discipline, including CRM expertise (particularly HubSpot), efficient time management, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Currently based in or prepared to relocate to San Francisco or Dallas
  • Eligible to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background in elite K–12 private school admissions or competitive college admissions
  • Track record of designing and executing high-touch, high-conversion recruitment events
  • Proficiency with analytics, performance metrics, and data-informed strategy
  • Knowledge of AI-powered or mastery-based educational frameworks
