Head of Admissions   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Unlike most enrollment positions designed to maximize volume, this role is designed to safeguard quality.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students reliably outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable results. Afternoons are dedicated to deeper exploration, independence, and practical skill development. The model delivers. But it depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your mandate.

You will direct the complete enrollment experience for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and extending through onboarding. This is not a segmented responsibility. You own how families engage with us, how accurately they grasp the educational approach, and whether enrollment decisions reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to ensure fit.

We welcome candidates from high-caliber service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, premium hospitality, executive client services, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurial operators who have personally overseen high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to manage a sophisticated, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service in environments where trust, discretion, and experiential quality define the brand, this role will resonate—except here, the work genuinely transforms lives.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-site position. We are currently hiring in Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont, Palm Springs, Charlotte, and Raleigh. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Directing the entire enrollment journey for prospective families, starting with first contact and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based consultations to establish compatibility before proposing solutions or advancing to subsequent stages.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment phases, maintaining clear tracking of status and follow-up actions.
  • Guiding campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment conversations that transparently convey outcomes, expectations, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and consistent service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive enrollment tactics.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment merely to reach enrollment targets.
  • Supervising large teams or navigating complex organizational hierarchies.
  • Distributing ownership of the family journey across multiple staff members.
  • Operating remotely. This position is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Design and deliver a high-trust, selective enrollment process that attracts well-aligned families while preserving the integrity and academic performance standards of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly shapes brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive services, premium memberships, or independently operated client-facing businesses).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact through successful onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships across different stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization system.
  • Ability to share specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you advised against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional written correspondence experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Palm Springs, FL; Charlotte, NC; or Raleigh, NC.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in selective private school admissions or competitive program recruitment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience developing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency using data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not merely transaction velocity.
