Director of Admissions   $200,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This role is based in-person at our Dallas-Fort Worth or San Francisco campus. Relocation assistance is provided.

Most admissions professionals are brought in to sustain the status quo. You'll be brought in to challenge it, dismantle what doesn't work, and build something more effective.

2 Hour Learning delivers a complete school day in two hours through AI-powered, mastery-based applications. No traditional teachers. No classroom lectures. No inefficiency. Students achieve learning growth at 2.6 times the national average, validated by MAP assessment data. Afternoons are dedicated to life skills, personal development, and substantive projects. This represents more than an alternative approach to education. It's a faster, smarter, high-impact framework producing top 1% academic results in half the time.

Your responsibility is to lead comprehensive admissions operations for one campus—either Dallas or San Francisco—with complete ownership of your enrollment pipeline. No bureaucratic layers. No segmented handoffs. No unnecessary complexity. You'll convert interest into enrollment through rapid outreach, transparent outcomes, compelling tours, and selective evaluation. You'll be the catalyst that convinces families to choose a school unlike anything they've encountered before.

If you're driven by velocity, substance, and the opportunity to represent a superior educational product rather than abstract ideals, this role is for you.

What you will be doing

  • Replying to inbound inquiries within 4 hours using tailored, specific messaging that avoids generic templates.
  • Conducting campus tours and hosting events that demonstrate precisely how and why our instruction accelerates learning, and which students thrive here.
  • Managing every stage of the admissions process, from application intake through shadow visits, enrollment decisions, and family onboarding.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date CRM and student information system records for weekly pipeline reviews, particularly in HubSpot.
  • Continuously improving admissions collateral, standard operating procedures, and frequently asked questions informed by live parent feedback and conversion metrics.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Building or supervising a team. This is intentionally structured as an individual contributor position.
  • Operating within institutional bureaucracy. We function at the pace of a startup, not a traditional school district.
  • Enrolling every applicant. This educational model serves specific families, and your role includes selecting the right fit.
  • Defending our unconventional approach. Our measurable results validate themselves without reliance on tradition.
  • Working remotely. This is a fully in-person, campus-based position with occasional off-site local engagements.

Key responsibilities

Take full ownership and continuously refine the admissions journey to convert qualified prospects into enrolled families. Build a high-conversion, strategically selective pipeline that mirrors the precision and performance standards of the 2 Hour Learning model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years managing end-to-end admissions at a selective, tuition-funded academic institution
  • Demonstrated track record of driving competitive enrollment from initial inquiry through final commitment
  • Outstanding communication capabilities across written correspondence, public presentation, and individual engagement
  • Ease and professionalism when interacting with affluent families and sophisticated decision-makers
  • Solid operational discipline, including CRM expertise (particularly HubSpot), time prioritization, and meticulous follow-through
  • Currently based in San Francisco or Dallas, or prepared to relocate to either location
  • Authorized for U.S. employment without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background in top-tier K–12 independent school admissions or selective college admissions
  • Track record organizing high-engagement, high-yield enrollment events
  • Proficiency with analytics, performance tracking, and metrics-informed strategy
  • Knowledge of AI-driven or mastery-based instructional systems
