Sports Performance Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, disbursed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage starts on day one
  • Austin, TX (full-time on-site)

If you've performed at the pinnacle of sport—Olympic competition, World Championship level, or as a Division I First Team All-American—you understand what it takes to succeed under pressure. The question is: can you transform that experience into concrete coaching methods that drive students toward excellence?

At Texas Sports Academy, your new field is developing champions—not from the bench, but through direct, daily coaching that challenges students to exceed their own expectations. You won't simply recount your achievements. Instead, you'll convert elite-level athletic discipline into practical motivational frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead intensive practice sessions where every student is measured against championship benchmarks.

Austin provides year-round outdoor training opportunities, a vibrant sports ecosystem, and a purpose-led community where your competitive background becomes the cornerstone for mentoring emerging leaders.

Coach with intention. Drive change through engagement. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting focused 1:1 motivational coaching sessions that convert your athletic expertise into clear, executable development strategies
  • Leading dynamic morning assemblies designed to energize and engage the full student population
  • Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you guide students through practical exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Directing structured afternoon sports training that embodies championship principles: creating drills, driving intensity, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic practice (not passive supervision)
  • Engaging proactively with all students throughout each day: moving through spaces during self-directed learning periods, stepping in to inspire students who are struggling, and generating real-time teaching moments that catalyze breakthroughs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from a distance as a symbolic presence: this is an active coaching position. You will be on the ground, directly engaging students, leading sessions, and intervening as situations unfold.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to set curricula: students complete academics through adaptive technology. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching transferable skills via sport and direct mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're seeking former elite athletes who have competed at the highest levels of sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
