Elite Sports Mentor   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one
  • Austin, TX (fully on-site)

Elite competition—whether Olympic, World Championship, or Division I First Team All-American—demands discipline and focus. The real question: can you convert that experience into concrete coaching methods that elevate students into top performers?

Texas Sports Academy is where your competitive career evolves into active mentorship. You won't observe from the edge. Instead, you'll coach directly, challenge students daily, and push them past perceived boundaries. Your role is to convert athletic excellence into practical motivation frameworks, deliver resilience training through immersive workshops, and lead rigorous practices where championship standards define every session.

Austin provides year-round outdoor conditions, a dynamic sports environment, and a purpose-centered community where your elite background becomes the engine for developing tomorrow's leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive transformation through action. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting focused 1:1 coaching sessions where your athletic expertise informs concrete, actionable motivational strategies
  • Delivering high-energy morning assemblies designed to activate the entire student community
  • Leading interactive life skills workshops where you coach students through practical exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal formulation
  • Directing structured athletic practice sessions that embody championship principles: crafting drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely overseeing activity)
  • Engaging proactively with students throughout each day: moving through independent study periods, stepping in to energize those who are struggling, and generating real-time learning opportunities that spark breakthroughs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing passively from the perimeter: this is an active coaching position, not a ceremonial one. You'll be on the ground, engaging directly, facilitating sessions, and responding dynamically.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to a set curriculum: students use adaptive digital platforms for academic content. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching foundational skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for former elite athletes with proven success at the highest competitive tier — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging athletics to mentor and develop life skills
  • Proven ability to provide motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
