Elite Sports Mentor   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000/year, compensation distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one
  • Austin, TX (on-site position)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the pinnacle of sport—as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—demands discipline. The question is whether you can convert those lessons into precise coaching methods that drive student achievement.

At Texas Sports Academy, your next challenge is developing champions—not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that pushes students beyond their perceived boundaries. You will not simply recount your achievements. You will convert elite athletic principles into practical motivational frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead intense practice sessions where championship standards apply to every participant.

Austin provides year-round access to outdoor training facilities, a dynamic sports community, and a purpose-oriented environment where your competitive background becomes the cornerstone for mentoring emerging leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive transformation through engagement. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting proactive one-on-one motivational coaching sessions that transform your competitive experience into concrete, actionable strategies
  • Delivering high-intensity morning assemblies designed to energize and engage the full student population
  • Leading interactive life skills workshops where you guide students through applied exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Directing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely overseeing activity)
  • Engaging proactively with all students across the day: moving through the space during independent study periods, intervening motivationally when students encounter obstacles, and seizing teachable moments to catalyze breakthrough performance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing passively from the sidelines: this position requires active, floor-level engagement with students, direct session leadership, and real-time intervention.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to a set curriculum: students progress through adaptive digital platforms. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching transferable skills through athletic mentorship and sport.

Candidate requirements

  • We are looking for former elite competitors who have performed at the highest echelons of sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging sport as a vehicle for mentoring and coaching life skills
  • Proven track record of motivational leadership within athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Prepared to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
