What you will be doing
- Conducting proactive one-on-one motivational coaching sessions that transform your competitive experience into concrete, actionable strategies
- Delivering high-intensity morning assemblies designed to energize and engage the full student population
- Leading interactive life skills workshops where you guide students through applied exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
- Directing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely overseeing activity)
- Engaging proactively with all students across the day: moving through the space during independent study periods, intervening motivationally when students encounter obstacles, and seizing teachable moments to catalyze breakthrough performance
What you will NOT be doing
- Observing passively from the sidelines: this position requires active, floor-level engagement with students, direct session leadership, and real-time intervention.
- Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to a set curriculum: students progress through adaptive digital platforms. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching transferable skills through athletic mentorship and sport.
Candidate requirements
- We are looking for former elite competitors who have performed at the highest echelons of sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
- Bachelor's degree in any subject
- Demonstrated experience leveraging sport as a vehicle for mentoring and coaching life skills
- Proven track record of motivational leadership within athletic, academic, or professional contexts
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
- Prepared to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
