Lead Data Scientist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

If you're convinced education must operate with greater speed, precision, and accountability, this position is designed for you.

2 Hour Learning condenses what conventional schools distribute across a full day into concentrated, results-driven learning cycles. Success depends entirely on academic choices being accurate, prompt, and fully owned. This position exists to achieve that outcome: transform complex student data into actionable insights and combine that with direct, high-trust coaching that clears obstacles quickly.

You will operate where data analysis meets personal engagement. In one instance, you're examining performance metrics to identify risks early and support placement decisions with sound rationale. In the next, you're working directly with a student, pinpointing confusion in the moment and guiding them forward before minor challenges escalate into major setbacks. This is not a role centered on passive observation. You are responsible for results.

This position suits individuals who seek to witness the immediate effect of their decisions. If you thrive under ownership, value working closely with students, and feel fulfilled helping children learn twice as efficiently through sharper decision-making, this environment will resonate with you.

Apply if you want your contributions to be visible by the end of the week, not the end of the semester.

What you will be doing

  • Examine student performance metrics to create clear, actionable academic reports that drive timely interventions
  • Take ownership of academic results for a defined student cohort, including placement choices, testing protocols, and follow-through actions
  • Deliver fast-paced academic rescue sessions that pinpoint root causes and eliminate learning obstacles in real time
  • Lead post-test coaching conversations to distinguish knowledge deficits from careless errors and prescribe focused next steps
  • Partner with academic leadership and parent support to flag risks and refine tools or workflows

What you will NOT be doing

  • Producing reports that remain unused
  • Operating exclusively in the background with no direct student contact
  • Delegating academic responsibility to teachers, tutors, or parents
  • Facilitating generic tutoring sessions lacking clear diagnostic intent
  • Delaying responses to student issues by weeks

Key responsibilities

Provide precise, prompt academic analysis and direct student interventions that demonstrably accelerate learning outcomes for your assigned student groups.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year in a coaching, instructional, or training role with a documented outcome or feedback
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience working closely with K–8 students (occasional tutoring does not qualify)
  • Demonstrated experience in data science, education, EdTech, or student support roles combining analysis and interpersonal work
  • Fluent spoken and written communication in Ukrainian and English
  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets, including lookups, filters, pivot tables, and charts
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust quickly with students and parents
  • Proven use of AI to analyze data or automate workflows with measurable efficiency gains
