Lead Data Scientist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

If you're convinced education needs to operate with greater speed, precision, and accountability, this position is designed for you.

2 Hour Learning condenses what conventional schools distribute over an entire school day into concentrated, results-driven learning sessions. Success in this model depends on academic decisions that are accurate, immediate, and fully owned. This role exists to fulfill that mission: transform raw student performance information into actionable insights and combine that with direct, trust-based student coaching that eliminates obstacles swiftly.

You will work at the convergence of data analysis and personal engagement. In one instance, you're examining assessment metrics to identify risk signals early and support placement recommendations with sound logic. In the next, you're working one-on-one with a student, diagnosing misunderstanding on the spot and helping them advance before minor struggles escalate into meaningful setbacks. This is not a hands-off data reporting position. You are responsible for measurable outcomes.

This position is built for individuals who want immediate evidence of their contributions. If you value ownership, enjoy direct interaction with students, and take satisfaction in enabling children to learn twice as quickly through smarter decisions, this environment will suit you.

Apply if you want your contributions to produce visible results within days, not months.

What you will be doing

  • Examine student performance metrics to generate clear, actionable academic insights that drive prompt interventions
  • Take full ownership of academic results for a designated cohort of students, including placement decisions, testing protocols, and subsequent actions
  • Deliver fast-response academic support sessions that pinpoint underlying causes and remove learning obstacles in the moment
  • Lead post-assessment coaching conversations to distinguish conceptual gaps from simple errors and assign focused corrective steps
  • Partner with academic leadership and family support teams to flag emerging risks and refine systems or workflows

What you will NOT be doing

  • Producing analytics that remain unused by decision-makers
  • Operating exclusively in backend systems without any student-facing work
  • Transferring responsibility for academic progress to teachers, tutors, or families
  • Facilitating general tutoring sessions lacking specific diagnostic objectives
  • Delaying responses to student challenges for weeks at a time

Key responsibilities

Provide precise, timely academic intelligence and direct student interventions that demonstrably improve learning outcomes for assigned student cohorts.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 1 year in a coaching, instructional, or training role with a documented outcome or feedback
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience working closely with K–8 students (occasional tutoring does not qualify)
  • Demonstrated experience in data science, education, EdTech, or student support roles combining analysis and interpersonal work
  • Fluent spoken and written communication in Ukrainian and English
  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets, including lookups, filters, pivot tables, and charts
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust quickly with students and parents
  • Proven use of AI to analyze data or automate workflows with measurable efficiency gains
