This role requires someone who can coach student-athletes through accountability and growth — not through teaching content, creating lesson plans, or grading assignments. It focuses entirely on the elements of coaching that create real impact: building trust, maintaining accountability, and helping individuals exceed their own expectations.
Texas Sports Academy operates a virtual academic program where student-athletes progress through self-directed learning applications while simultaneously developing life skills and continuing their athletic training. Your assigned cohort will meet with you weekly in virtual 1:1 and small-group formats. You will guide their decision-making, reinforce accountability structures, and identify disengagement early. The effectiveness of your sessions depends on your ability to establish trust and maintain presence — not on the academic material displayed on screen.
The work consists of three core components: coaching sessions designed to maintain student momentum, proactive intervention triggered by progress metrics that reveal emerging gaps, and facilitated virtual workshops focused on mindset development and life skills. This is a remote position based in Texas, requiring quarterly attendance at in-person events held in Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio.
If your experience in coaching or mentoring students or athletes has shown you that the most rewarding moments come from watching someone break through a self-imposed ceiling, submit your application now.
Maintain engagement, academic progress, and life skills development for virtual student-athletes, ensuring they build the capabilities required for success beyond their academic experience.
