AWS Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Are you the AWS architect who sees infrastructure as art? The one who transforms chaos into cloud harmony? We're seeking a masterful AWS infrastructure strategist who can navigate the complexity of multiple acquired products and their unique technical ecosystems. Your mission: architect a unified, resilient AWS environment where 99.9% uptime isn't just a goal—it's the minimum standard.

While most organizations want infrastructure maintainers, we need a visionary consolidator. Someone who looks at fragmented systems and envisions elegant integration. You'll be the architect who doesn't just migrate to the cloud—you reimagine how our infrastructure should function, strategically unifying databases and services for maximum efficiency across our diverse portfolio.

This role puts you at the helm of transformative infrastructure initiatives—from sophisticated cloud migrations to implementing AI-driven automation systems. You'll diagnose performance bottlenecks, execute zero-downtime transitions, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to automate routine operations. Best of all? You'll have the decision-making authority to implement your vision without bureaucratic roadblocks.

If you're energized by complex puzzles, if you see opportunity in technical diversity, and if you're driven to create order from digital chaos—this position offers unlimited potential. But be warned: if you prefer simple, stable environments or need constant direction, this isn't your ideal match. Ready to architect excellence across our AWS ecosystem? We're waiting to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Orchestrating sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including legacy-to-AWS migrations and seamless lift-and-shift operations
  • Crafting comprehensive monitoring architectures and developing intelligent automation systems for monitoring, deployment pipelines, and operational processes
  • Managing system health through proactive monitoring, implementing robust backup strategies, leading incident resolution, executing database migrations, optimizing database performance, and driving cost-efficiency initiatives

What you will NOT be doing

  • Drowning in task management tools or attending excessive status updates—we prioritize action over administration
  • Perpetuating legacy systems—you'll be empowered to drive architectural evolution and modernization
  • Navigating complex approval hierarchies—you'll have the autonomy to implement critical fixes when systems demand immediate attention
  • Operating within confined technical boundaries—this role demands both specialized expertise and broad technical versatility
  • Justifying essential infrastructure investments—we recognize and support the value of strategic technical investments

Key responsibilities

  • Champion reliability and standardization across our expanding product ecosystem by implementing enterprise-grade monitoring solutions, intelligent automation frameworks, and AWS architectural best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Extensive AWS architectural expertise (our infrastructure is AWS-centric—complementary cloud experience is valuable but not sufficient)
  • Advanced programming capabilities in Python or JavaScript for developing sophisticated automation solutions and custom tooling
  • Proven experience in managing and migrating enterprise-grade databases across diverse engines (MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL required)
  • Sophisticated containerization knowledge with Docker and orchestration mastery with Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code platforms (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Comprehensive Linux systems administration knowledge
