Description

Are you an experienced commercial banker looking to move into private equity, but without starting over? Do you have a large network of business lending contacts in the Bay Area?

Trilogy is a software conglomerate with a portfolio of hundreds of companies. We acquire struggling software companies and turn them into winners. This year, our goal is to acquire one new company per week, and we need someone like you to help us gain access to those potential acquisitions.

Join Trilogy’s M&A team and source potential acquisitions through your existing relationships with lending institutions. You will explain the Trilogy value proposition and identify potential investments that are in dire need of a turnaround. If there is a potential acquisition out there that fits Trilogy’s investment thesis, it will be your primary responsibility to gain access to it.

This role does not require previous software deal experience. We’ve acquired over 100 software companies and turned them around. If you are fluent in the banking language and have an excellent network, then we will teach you everything you need to know about M&A.

What you will be doing

  • Leveraging existing relationships with key contacts at banks/lenders who lend to B2B software companies, and proactively developing new relationships
  • Sourcing acquisitions from banks/lenders whose portfolio companies are underperforming
  • Handing off targets to the M&A team to close

What you will NOT be doing

  • Making investment decisions
  • Conducting due diligence research on potential acquisitions
  • Conducting target valuations

Key responsibilities

  • Put Trilogy in a position to bid on every broken B2B software business on the brink of default that can be sourced through a Bay Area lender

Candidate requirements

  • Expertise in the lending space, ideally with exposure to underperforming credit portfolios
  • Possess a large network of Bay Area contacts at business lending institutions
  • No previous M&A or software industry experience required
