Life Skills Experience Designer   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You are not here to “teach.” You are here to design moments that make adults pause and say, “Wait… a kid did that?” If you’ve felt trapped inside preset curriculums, slow approvals, or low standards, this is your reset. You will build bold, real Life Skills experiences where productive struggle is the point, and visible growth is the proof.

Alpha Anywhere is a remote program that helps students ages 8–14 build life skills through live workshops and real challenges, not lectures and worksheets. This role exists to take a founder-run pilot and turn it into a repeatable, faculty-delivered program that can scale. You will design, facilitate, and iterate the full loop. You will ship workshops, create independent challenges, run feedback cycles, and produce showcases that students are proud to present.

This is not a safe, tightly-managed role. You will be trusted to figure it out, raise the bar, and document what works so others can inherit it. If you thrive on a blank canvas, bring strong on-camera presence, and believe kids can handle hard things, you will do the best work of your career here.

If you want your work measured by real transformation, not checkboxes, we want to meet you.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitate live, student-led workshops where kids do most of the talking and doing, and you adapt in real time
  • Design independent, self-contained challenges with clear mastery criteria and tangible outputs students can complete without heavy 1:1 support
  • Deliver fast, specific feedback that answers “what do I do now?” and drives measurable improvement at scale
  • Iterate workshops using evidence (outcomes, notes, recordings, feedback) and document changes so the program compounds over time
  • Produce showcases where students present their work to families and demonstrate visible growth and confidence

What you will NOT be doing

  • Follow a pre-written curriculum or teach from scripts designed by someone else
  • Spend your weeks on grades, test prep, or compliance-driven “check the box” schoolwork
  • Wait on layers of approvals before you can try an idea, run an experiment, and ship an iteration
  • Rely on being physically in the room to create energy; you will create connection and momentum on camera

Key responsibilities

This role exists so Alpha Anywhere can scale a faculty-delivered Life Skills program that consistently produces “impossible” student outcomes and supports major enrollment growth without founder-led delivery.

Candidate requirements

  • Experience having designed and delivered at least one experience end-to-end (program, game, camp, training, performance, or similar)
  • Experience working directly with students ages 8–14 in any capacity
  • Strong virtual presence with clear communication and the ability to build connection on camera
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week with 70%+ of your time available between 8am–8pm CT, Monday–Friday
  • Reliable internet and a professional, stable setup for virtual facilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to build in ambiguity, iterate fast, and hold a high bar without lowering standards when students struggle

Nice to have

  • Background in experiential design (games, theater, youth programs, coaching, or startup-style building)
  • Experience designing objective rubrics, exemplars, or mastery-based assessments
  • Proven habit of documenting and systemizing your work so others can repeat and improve it
