AWS Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You're the engineer who maintains uptime for 50+ SaaS products when no one else has the answers. We need DevOps professionals capable of stepping into unknown AWS environments, restoring order, and driving availability beyond 99.9% through genuine monitoring, automation, and root cause analysis. You'll break down complex initiatives into daily deliverables, deploy production-quality Python or JavaScript, and leverage AI as an assistant.

Many organizations talk about "cloud" while manually nursing fragile systems. We're building industrial-scale reliability across dozens of acquired offerings where the original engineers have departed and the documentation is incomplete. That's the challenge: you'll employ agents and current tooling to explore unfamiliar systems 5–10x faster, document your findings, and automate solutions so recurring failures become impossible. Rather than judging you on certifications and vendor names, we'll observe how you diagnose issues in real time, produce a genuine 5-Whys that identifies one preventable root cause, and create automations that withstand production conditions.

This is not an L2 "follow the script" position. Here, you author the procedures, architect the deployment path from dev through staged to 10% to full rollout with soak periods and rollback criteria, and construct the monitors that detect corner cases. You block risky changes before execution. You distinguish infrastructure problems you handle from application bugs Engineering resolves, and you route permanent corrections to the appropriate owner.

You'll operate at the engineering center of reliability, taking ownership of infrastructure initiatives, incident management and RCAs, and change requests accompanied by copy-paste-ready runbooks. If you've already managed a substantial SaaS offering and want to extend that expertise across an entire fleet, join us. Bring expert-tier AWS knowledge, production-caliber development skills, uncompromising scope discipline, and daily, mission-critical use of AI tooling. If you're prepared to maintain operational excellence, please apply.

What you will be doing

  • Infrastructure migrations of significant complexity, consolidation efforts, production-ready automations, and monitoring adjustments
  • Diagnosing production incidents, deploying immediate remediation, and authoring root cause analyses that assign permanent solutions to the owning teams
  • Authoring, validating, and deploying production changes, including assessing the safety of proposed modifications before execution

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending your time in Jira and perpetual status meetings - we reward individuals who deliver solutions, not merely document issues
  • Supporting legacy systems without end - you'll be authorized to pursue substantial improvements
  • Waiting on bureaucratic approval workflows - you'll possess the authority to deploy immediate remediation during incidents

Key responsibilities

  • Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Experience owning large production infrastructure and troubleshooting production outages independently (not just following a runbook)
  • Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
