AWS Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You're the type of DevOps engineer who doesn't simply maintain operations—you ensure they're bulletproof from the start. If you find satisfaction in dissecting convoluted legacy infrastructure, architecting more efficient solutions, and automating every repetitive process you come across, this opportunity is for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in high-pressure settings where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each with distinct characteristics, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while implementing monitoring and automation that genuinely prevents incidents.

Most organizations ask you to support one stack. We're asking you to unify and enhance multiple stacks without causing disruptions. Where others separate databases, we take the opposite approach, strategically consolidating them for cost efficiency and streamlined management across our entire portfolio. This position isn't designed for someone content with maintaining the status quo; it's for someone who looks at a disjointed, inconsistent environment and immediately envisions a superior architecture.

You'll be responsible for everything from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost reduction. This includes identifying and resolving existing issues, planning and executing smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate substantial portions of your workload. You'll possess genuine authority to make infrastructure decisions—no prolonged waiting for sign-offs from stakeholders who lack technical depth.

If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys unraveling complex systems and ensuring they operate seamlessly, this position will be ideal. If you require significant guidance, become overwhelmed managing multiple technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over creating structure from disorder, this won't be the right fit. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure position with opportunities to build, optimize, and automate at scale, submit your application today!

What you will be doing

  • Executing and planning sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migrations
  • Creating and deploying monitoring strategies and developing automations for monitoring, software releases, and operational processes
  • Conducting system monitoring, system backups, incident management, database migrations, database configurations, and cost optimization

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending your time in Jira and continuous status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not simply document problems
  • Sustaining obsolete systems without end - you'll be authorized to implement substantial improvements
  • Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate fixes during incidents
  • Being confined to narrow technical specializations - this position demands both comprehensive and deep technical knowledge
  • Justifying budget for essential improvements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment

Key responsibilities

  • Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Experience scripting with Python and Bash for day-to-day administration operations
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
