AWS Architect   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You're a DevOps engineer who prioritizes proactive infrastructure design over reactive firefighting. If you find satisfaction in dissecting fragmented legacy systems, architecting more robust solutions, and eliminating manual toil through automation, this role aligns with your strengths. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels in demanding production environments where 99.9% uptime is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products, each with unique characteristics, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS infrastructure while establishing monitoring and automation frameworks that minimize incident frequency.

Most organizations ask you to support a single technology stack. We're asking you to integrate and refine multiple stacks without service disruption. Where other companies isolate databases, we take a different approach, consolidating them strategically to achieve cost efficiency and simplified management across our product portfolio. This position isn't for someone content with maintaining the status quo; it's for someone who encounters inconsistent, scattered infrastructure and immediately envisions how to improve it.

You'll be responsible for everything from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. This includes identifying and resolving existing issues, planning and executing cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and building AI/ML-driven workflows that automate significant portions of operational work. You'll have genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure choices—no prolonged waiting for sign-offs from stakeholders who lack technical depth.

If you're a self-directed problem-solver who enjoys transforming complex systems into reliable, efficient operations, this role offers substantial opportunity. If you require constant guidance, struggle with diverse technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over bringing order to existing chaos, this position won't be a good fit. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure role with the latitude to build, refine, and automate at scale, apply now!

What you will be doing

  • Designing and executing complex infrastructure transformations, including migrations from legacy platforms to AWS cloud environments and lift-and-shift migration strategies
  • Creating and deploying monitoring strategies and developing automation for monitoring systems, software deployment pipelines, and operational processes
  • Managing system monitoring, backup operations, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost reduction initiatives

What you will NOT be doing

  • Spending your time in Jira and continuous status meetings - we prioritize people who deliver solutions, not merely document problems
  • Supporting legacy systems without end - you'll be authorized to implement substantive improvements
  • Waiting through bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate solutions during incidents
  • Operating within restrictive technical silos - this position demands both comprehensive and deep technical knowledge
  • Justifying budget for essential infrastructure enhancements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment

Key responsibilities

  • Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript for building automation and tooling
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
  • Advanced Docker/Kubernetes skills
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
