Your ownership will extend from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. This means identifying and resolving what's failing, orchestrating cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and building AI/ML-driven workflows that eliminate manual overhead. You'll hold genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure choices—no endless waiting for sign-off from stakeholders disconnected from technical reality.

What you will be doing
- Orchestrating complex infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy platforms to AWS cloud environments and lift-and-shift migration initiatives
- Architecting monitoring strategies and creating automation for observability, software delivery pipelines, and operational processes
- Executing system monitoring, backup operations, incident management, database migrations, database tuning, and cost reduction initiatives

- Supporting legacy systems permanently - you'll be authorized to pursue substantive modernization efforts

Key responsibilities
- Establish reliability and consistency of cloud infrastructure across our expanding product portfolio through implementation of comprehensive monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
Candidate requirements
- Extensive AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our core platform - experience with other clouds alone is insufficient)
- Proficient programming abilities in Python or JavaScript for developing automation and tooling solutions
- Proven experience administering and migrating production databases across multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL)
- Expert-level Docker/Kubernetes capabilities
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
- Linux systems administration proficiency
