Youth Program Coordinator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • In-person at Alpha campuses in Denver, CO | Atlanta, GA | Oklahoma City, OK | Nashville, TN | Fort Worth, TX | Houston, TX (Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands) | Park City, UT (relocation support provided)
  • $100,000 salary, paid weekly. Day-one health, dental, and vision benefits

The best coaches know that when a kid reaches 99% of their goal, the right response is to hold the line, not celebrate early. If that approach feels harsh to you, this position won't be a fit. If it energizes you because you understand that maintaining high standards communicates belief in a student's potential, continue reading.

Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full day's worth of academics in roughly two hours using adaptive software. No classroom lectures. No printed textbooks. Your responsibility is what technology cannot replicate: developing life skills in K-8 students—public speaking, concentration, and how to give and receive feedback. You'll spend half your time facilitating hands-on workshops with structured playbooks and narrative techniques. The remaining time is dedicated to individual and small-group sessions, where you examine student progress through adaptive learning platforms via Coachbot analytics and hold them accountable to achieving 100% of their weekly objectives. Mastery is demonstrated through Test2Pass assessments rather than participation-based grading.

During your first year, you'll manage a student cohort and become fluent in Alpha's methodology: life skill workshops, motivational coaching, and mastery-based evaluation. Once you demonstrate consistent ability to guide every student to 100% goal attainment while maintaining satisfaction scores above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available—a role where you mentor other Guides while remaining directly engaged with students. Top performers in this position don't merely impact individual students; they influence campus-wide culture and operations.

If your background includes years of coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people and you've wished you could eliminate instructional teaching to concentrate purely on their personal development, this opportunity aligns with that vision.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops for K-8 students covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback skills (project-based and interactive)
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions to examine each student's progress in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and hold them accountable to completing 100% of weekly targets
  • Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify students have genuinely mastered each life skill rather than simply attended
  • Adjusting your coaching approach across diverse age groups, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct communication and accountability
  • Cultivating authentic relationships with each student so they trust your guidance even when facing resistance, distraction, or self-doubt

What you will NOT be doing

  • Presenting lectures or traditional academic lessons (core subjects are learned through adaptive applications, not direct instruction from you)
  • Developing lesson plans or original curriculum (Alpha supplies life skills playbooks; your role is to execute them with enthusiasm and storytelling)
  • Handling parent communications or administrative duties (Campus Leads manage those areas; you remain concentrated on student coaching)
  • Evaluating homework assignments or coordinating standardized test preparation (neither exists in this environment)
  • Operating independently (you're embedded in a campus team alongside Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who provide feedback and mutual accountability)

Key responsibilities

Ensure every student in your cohort loves school, masters essential life skills, and hits 100% of their academic goals through adaptive learning software.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with K-8 students (teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership)
  • Experience motivating or coaching K-8 students toward academic, behavioral, or extracurricular goals, with at least one specific example you can describe (the goal, actions you took, and the outcome)
  • Daily use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)
  • Willing to work in-person at an Alpha campus in Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX (Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands); or Park City, UT (relocation support provided)
  • Legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience in youth athletics coaching, camp leadership, or after-school program work where you were directly responsible for motivating kids to hit specific goals
  • Track record of high personal achievement (academic honors, competitive athletics, or leadership roles that required sustained excellence)
  • Natural storytelling ability: you can hold a room of 12-year-olds' attention for an hour without raising your voice
  • Experience motivating disengaged or resistant students and turning them into active participants
