Alpha Schools is replacing traditional lectures and textbooks with AI-driven adaptive learning and peer mentorship. Students advance at their individual pace. Your role is to guide them toward discovering their own strengths, not to deliver predetermined lessons.
This position is built for high achievers who want to apply their drive toward repairing a failing system. You won't be grading assignments or adhering to rigid curricula. Instead, you'll facilitate workshops, spark curiosity, and demonstrate that education has no limits when students take ownership of their learning.

What you will be doing
- Engaging with K-8 students as a mentor, establishing trust and cultivating a limitless mindset
- Leveraging AI and adaptive learning platforms to customize educational pathways—students move at their own speed, you facilitate exploration
- Creating and facilitating life-skills workshops (public speaking, goal-setting, collaboration) that equip students for sustained success
- Cultivating an environment of curiosity, ambition, and development—assist students in recognizing their strengths and passions
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any subject
- Strong public speaking skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage and energize audiences
- A desire to connect, inspire, and motivate K-8th grade students
- 3 year's experience coaching or mentoring children
- Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Willingness to work in-person at one of our campuses: Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; or Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ
- Able to attend a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus
