What you will be doing

As a Reading Interventionist at Alpha School, you'll inspire students to become self-directed learners by setting and achieving personal goals. You'll deliver targeted instruction in social-emotional skills and foundational literacy, supported by expert Reading Specialists. You'll create a classroom environment that fosters curiosity and resilience through interactive, hands-on learning. Embrace AI-driven tools to enhance educational outcomes and collaborate with a team of educators and counselors to tailor learning experiences to each student's unique needs and styles.

What you will NOT be doing

You won't be confined to traditional teaching methods. Instead, you'll integrate innovative educational technology and avoid a one-size-fits-all approach. Emotional and social development will be just as important as academic growth, ensuring a well-rounded education for every student.

Key responsibilities

Guide young learners in Kindergarten - 2nd grade to develop independent learning and life skills, setting them on a path to success and personal growth.

Candidate requirements

  • Must be willing to work onsite at our Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL; or Austin, TX campus.
  • Hold a college degree in any field.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience working with children aged 4 - 8 years in educational, afterschool, sports, or related settings.
  • Proven track record of using a growth mindset and high-performance coaching strategies effectively.
  • Comfortable and enthusiastic about using AI and other technologies in educational settings.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your application:

  • A degree or certification in early learning fields such as education, child development, or reading intervention.
  • Certifications or advanced training in early childhood methodologies like CDA, Montessori, or Reggio Emilia.
  • Experience as a K-2 teacher, reading coach, or literacy specialist with formal training or professional development in reading & phonics frameworks.
  • Background in environments that focus on personalized learning paths and educational technology.
