You've built a career coaching young people — not instructing them. The distinction matters: a coach builds rapport, sets high standards, and won't allow a student to accept mediocrity. An instructor transmits information. You've never been an information transmitter.
Alpha operates the most non-traditional school model you'll encounter. Students don't fill desks in lecture halls. They progress through AI-driven learning platforms independently. The AI manages academic instruction. Your role is facilitating life skills workshops that captivate K-8 students, leading motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when students attempt to underperform. Academic progress is handled by the system. You manage the human element.
This position offers meaningful upward trajectory, and that trajectory is measured in student outcomes. Counselors who reliably achieve their metrics (100% cohort completion of weekly app targets, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they train other educators in these methods. Students remain the focus.

What you will be doing
- Facilitating hour-long life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange
- Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have internalized the skill, not merely attended the session
- Leading daily motivation sessions informed by student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to ensure 100% of your cohort reaches their weekly app progression goals
- Employing narrative techniques, incentive systems (campus currency, leaderboards), and individual relationships to overcome student reluctance
- Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a target of 90%+ on student feedback surveys
What you will NOT be doing
- Presenting lectures from the front of a classroom. Students progress academically via self-paced AI-driven applications, not through direct instruction from you.
- Supervising without engagement. Students using computers is the environment; active coaching is the function.
- Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass benchmarks remain firm, even when a student faces a difficult week.
- Designing curriculum independently. Workshop frameworks and lesson structures are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the charisma and narrative skill that ensures genuine student learning.
- Handling parent communications, admissions processes, or campus administration. Those functions belong to other positions.

Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
- Strong storytelling and facilitation skills — capable of maintaining the attention of a room full of children for an hour
- Available to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice to have
- Experience as a sports coach, camp counselor, or facilitator in youth development programs
- Demonstrated history of high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or career-related)
- Familiarity with self-paced or application-based learning environments
