You've spent years coaching young people — not merely instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaching means connecting, challenging, and refusing to allow students to accept anything less than their potential. Instruction is about delivering material. You have never operated as a content delivery mechanism.
Alpha operates one of the most unconventional schools you'll encounter. Students don't occupy rows while being lectured at. They progress through AI-driven learning applications at individualized paces. AI manages the instructional material. Your role involves facilitating life skills workshops that capture the attention of K-8 students, conducting motivation sessions that drive them toward their weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when a student attempts to disengage. The academic component is self-sustaining. You manage the human dimension.
This position offers a meaningful growth trajectory, and that trajectory leads to deeper student influence. Educators who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort attainment of weekly app goals, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they mentor other educators in refining this approach. What you will be doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students addressing topics including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
- Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically acquired the skill, not simply attended
- Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app progression goals
- Employing storytelling techniques, incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and individual rapport to overcome student reluctance
- Monitoring cohort satisfaction metrics toward a 90%+ benchmark on student feedback surveys
What you will NOT be doing
- Lecturing from the front of a classroom. Students progress academically via self-directed AI-powered applications, not through direct instruction from you.
- Providing passive supervision. Children working on computers describes the environment; active engagement defines the role.
- Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass requirements remain consistent, regardless of individual student circumstances during a given week.
- Creating curriculum independently. Workshop playbooks and lesson frameworks are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the storytelling ability and presence that ensures genuine student comprehension.
- Handling parent communications, conducting admissions processes, or supervising campus operations. Those functions belong to different positions.

Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
- Strong storytelling and facilitation skills — capable of maintaining the engagement of a group of children for one hour
- Willingness to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
- Authorization to work legally in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice to have
- Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program leader
- Demonstrated history of high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional)
- Familiarity with self-directed or app-based learning environments
