Description

NOTE: This position requires your presence at our Austin, TX location. We offer relocation support.

Are you a former elite athlete who has transitioned into a motivational mentor and life coach? Do you champion the transformative power of sports in teaching vital life lessons like perseverance, leadership, and teamwork?

Welcome to Sports Academy, driven by 2hr Learning, where we nurture not only tomorrow's athletes but also future leaders and innovators. Our distinctive educational approach marries academic mastery with athletic prowess, allowing students to excel in their studies while pursuing their sporting passions.

Here, your role transcends that of a coach; you become a guiding force — someone who values the journey as much as the destination. Through energetic morning sessions, tailored problem-solving guidance, and mentorship in the student-athlete experience, you'll ignite a lifelong passion for learning and sports in every student. Join us as we transform your dedication to sports and personal growth into a beacon for aspiring young athletes and scholars.

At Sports Academy, we're a community dedicated to excellence. If you're eager to impact young athletes and scholars, creating an environment for them to thrive academically and athletically, we encourage you to apply. Together, we can reach new heights.

What you will be doing

  • Inspire students daily by embodying a passion for learning and a steadfast commitment to athletic and personal development.
  • Guide students in developing problem-solving skills, equipping them with the mindset to overcome academic and life hurdles independently.
  • Initiate lively morning sessions to invigorate and ready students for the day, fostering an environment of motivation and enthusiasm.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students dealing with social challenges, cultivating an inclusive and supportive community.
  • Lead life skills and sports practice sessions in the afternoons, using athletic disciplines to nurture leadership, teamwork, resilience, and perseverance.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Traditional classroom teaching or tutoring; instead, you'll be coaching students on effective learning and problem-solving techniques.
  • Observing from the sidelines; active involvement with students in both academic and athletic contexts is essential.
  • Applying a uniform approach; personalized mentorship and understanding each student's unique motivations are key tools.

Key responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to drive the growth of our students as scholars, athletes, and individuals, ensuring they gain the skills, discipline, and resilience to succeed in all life areas.

Candidate requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Exhibit athletic excellence (e.g., Olympian, national/world champion, pro/semi-pro athlete, or D1 collegiate athlete).
  • Strong academic credentials, demonstrating a balance between intellectual and physical capabilities.
  • Outstanding motivational skills with the ability to energize and engage students.
  • Commitment to personal development and mentoring students in life skills through athletic discipline.
  • Availability to begin in-person in Austin, TX.
