Student Success Coach   $120,000 USD/year

Description

  • IMPORTANT: This role requires you to be present in person at one of our locations in Miami, FL; New York City, NY; or San Francisco, CA.

You're a top achiever, someone who has consistently excelled in every endeavor. Perhaps you've been recognized on a national level, outshone competitors, or led in high-pressure situations. Now, you're seeking a role that channels your ambition into meaningful impact.

At Alpha, we're revolutionizing education by creating an innovative school that defies expectations and puts students at the forefront of their learning journey. We believe that by eliminating traditional lectures, textbooks, and limitations, students can learn more efficiently. At Alpha, our focus is on coaching and guiding rather than teaching, pushing students to exceed their own expectations.

Your role will be to inspire students to embrace their curiosity, take charge of their growth, and cultivate a mindset without bounds. This isn't about following a set lesson plan; it's about exemplifying excellence and transforming your success into a catalyst for theirs. If you're prepared to help students think bigger, move quicker, and aim higher, Alpha is the place for you.

What you will be doing

  • Engage with students daily through mentorship and motivation—focusing on impactful coaching rather than lectures
  • Utilize adaptive learning technologies and AI platforms to facilitate individualized learning experiences
  • Conduct small-group workshops on life skills, leadership, and strategies for real-world success
  • Assist students in identifying their strengths and broadening their aspirations through tailored growth plans
  • Contribute innovative ideas and data-driven insights to enhance Alpha’s educational model

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering scripted lectures or grading worksheets in a conventional classroom setting
  • Acting as a tutor or babysitter—this role is not about providing remedial support
  • Working within a rigid system that limits creativity and initiative
  • Overlooking technology—our approach integrates top tools to enhance growth rather than replace it

Key responsibilities

Empower students to develop a limitless mindset and achieve remarkable growth through the integration of technology, mentorship, and by setting a personal example of excellence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Proven track record of high performance (e.g., top academic honors, Division 1/Olympic athletics, national competitions, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or instructing K–8 students
  • Excellent communication and public speaking abilities
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Commitment to in-person work in Miami, FL; New York City, NY; or San Francisco, CA
