Virtual Student Mentor   $60,000 USD/year

Description

  • Hybrid AZ · W2 · $60K/yr

Licensed educators ready to shift from traditional classroom management to student-centered mentorship should read on.

Imagine a role where lesson planning, lecturing, and grading are removed from your plate—and your full attention goes toward coaching students to become self-assured, resourceful individuals.

Unbound Academy redefines what teaching means. This hybrid position supports a virtual, tuition-free Arizona charter school that trades worksheets for experiential learning and prioritizes personal development. Core academics are completed independently by students using AI-driven platforms in a concentrated two-hour window each day. The remaining time is dedicated to skill-building through facilitated workshops, mentorship, and exploratory learning.

Your day won't include scripted curriculum delivery or virtual classroom monitoring. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions that push students to think critically, collaborate meaningfully, and develop as individuals. Your mentorship will span storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness, and critical thinking—helping students cultivate independence, self-confidence, and executive function.

This position is not designed for educators attempting to recreate conventional schooling in a remote format. It's built for licensed teachers willing to relocate to Arizona, embrace a hybrid work model, and guide students in ways that genuinely equip them for adulthood. If you're ready to leave behind administrative busywork and pursue the most impactful teaching work of your career, continue reading.

  • Partnering with other educators to design and refine project-driven learning activities

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic content; adaptive AI tutoring systems manage those areas
  • Presenting scripted lessons or operating within a conventional classroom framework
  • Grading assignments, distributing homework, or creating standardized lesson plans
