Youth Development Coach   $60,000 USD/year

Description

Arizona-certified teachers—this is your opportunity.

Imagine a teaching role where you don't spend your time on lesson plans, lectures, or grading—but instead devote your energy entirely to mentoring young people into confident, capable individuals.

Unbound Academy is creating a fully virtual, tuition-free charter school that replaces traditional worksheets with experiential learning and places personal development at the center. Students complete their academic work in two concentrated hours daily using AI-driven platforms. The remainder of the day? Reserved for something just as critical: immersive workshops designed to cultivate life skills, curiosity, and self-assurance.

You won't be delivering predetermined lessons or overseeing a virtual classroom. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions that guide students through bold concepts via storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness, and other domains. Your role is to coach them toward self-reliance, support their personal development, and equip them with the competencies that truly matter beyond school.

This position isn't suited to those attached to conventional schooling models. It's designed for Arizona-certified educators prepared to work remotely, teach innovatively, and mentor students in ways that genuinely prepare them for the future. If you've grown weary of classroom administration and are eager to build a better approach, this role awaits you.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating interactive, virtual workshops centered on life competencies including creativity, communication, and critical problem-solving
  • Coaching students individually and in small cohorts to develop confidence, autonomy, and executive functioning
  • Leveraging platform analytics to personalize support and monitor development over time
  • Partnering with other educators to design and refine project-driven learning activities
  • Building a secure, energizing environment where students feel valued, heard, and motivated to develop

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic subjects—those are addressed by AI tutoring systems
  • Presenting scripted lectures or maintaining a traditional classroom structure
  • Evaluating assignments or preparing standardized lesson frameworks

Key responsibilities

Facilitate student development and life preparedness by guiding transformative, real-world learning opportunities within a flexible, fully virtual educational framework.

Candidate requirements

  • Valid US teaching certificate from any state
  • Background in teaching, mentoring, or coaching students (Grades 4–8 preferred)
  • Effective virtual presence; confident leading through video platforms
  • Availability for full-time work (M–F, 8am–5pm Arizona time)
  • Prepared to start within 2-3 weeks
  • Enthusiastic about working in a technology-driven, student-focused educational environment
