Student Success Coach   $60,000 USD/year

Description

Arizona-certified teachers, this opportunity is for you.

Imagine a teaching role where lesson planning, lecturing, and grading take a back seat—and mentoring students to become self-assured, capable individuals becomes your primary focus.

Unbound Academy is a fully virtual, tuition-free charter school redefining education. We've replaced traditional worksheets with experiential learning and positioned personal development at the center of our model. Students complete their academic work in two concentrated hours each day using AI-powered platforms. The remainder of their time is devoted to something just as important: immersive workshops designed to cultivate life skills, curiosity, and self-confidence.

You won't be tasked with delivering scripted curricula or overseeing a conventional virtual classroom. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions that invite students to engage with ambitious concepts through storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness, and other enriching areas. Your role is to coach them toward self-sufficiency, support their personal development, and equip them with competencies that translate directly to real-world success.

This position isn't suited to those attached to traditional schooling models. It's designed for Arizona-certified teachers prepared to lead remotely, embrace a new teaching paradigm, and support young people in ways that genuinely prepare them for life beyond the classroom. If you're ready to move past busywork and help build something more meaningful, this role is an ideal fit.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating interactive, virtual workshops centered on life skills such as creativity, communication, and critical problem-solving
  • Providing one-on-one and small-group mentorship to foster confidence, self-direction, and executive functioning
  • Leveraging platform analytics to personalize support and monitor student progress longitudinally
  • Working alongside fellow educators to co-design and refine project-based learning experiences
  • Cultivating a secure, energetic environment where students feel valued, heard, and motivated to develop

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic subjects—AI tutors manage that component
  • Presenting scripted lectures or maintaining a conventional classroom structure
  • Evaluating assignments or preparing standardized lesson plans

Key responsibilities

Foster student development and life readiness by facilitating transformative, real-world learning experiences within a flexible, fully virtual school environment.

Candidate requirements

  • Valid US teaching certificate from any state
  • Prior experience teaching, mentoring, or coaching students (Grades 4–8 preferred)
  • Strong virtual facilitation skills; confident leading sessions via video
  • Availability for full-time work (M–F, 8am–5pm Arizona time)
  • Able to start within 2-3 weeks
  • Enthusiastic about working in a technology-driven, student-centered school
