Virtual Learning Facilitator   $60,000 USD/year

Description

  • Hybrid AZ · W2 · $60K/yr

We're looking for licensed educators ready to shift from traditional classroom management to transformative student mentorship.

Imagine a role where lesson planning, lecturing, and grading take a back seat—and guiding young people toward confidence and capability becomes your primary focus.

Unbound Academy operates as a tuition-free, fully virtual Arizona charter school built on a fundamentally different model. This hybrid position supports an environment where worksheets are replaced by experiential learning and personal development drives the curriculum. Core academics are completed independently by students in just two focused hours daily using AI-powered platforms. The remainder of their day is dedicated to building practical competencies through facilitated workshops, coaching sessions, and self-directed exploration.

Your role won't involve delivering pre-written lessons or monitoring a virtual classroom for compliance. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions designed to push students toward critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. You'll guide them through storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness practices, and complex problem-solving—all while cultivating independence, self-assurance, and executive function skills.

This position isn't suited for those attempting to recreate conventional schooling in a digital format. It's designed for licensed teachers prepared to relocate to Arizona, engage in a hybrid work structure, and mentor students in ways that genuinely equip them for adult life. If classroom busywork no longer fulfills you and you're seeking the most impactful work of your teaching career, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating engaging virtual workshops centered on essential life competencies including communication, creativity, problem-solving, and self-management
  • Providing one-on-one and small group mentorship to develop student confidence, ownership, and executive functioning capabilities
  • Leveraging platform analytics and student indicators to customize support and monitor individual progress longitudinally
  • Working alongside fellow facilitators to design and iteratively refine project-based learning experiences
  • Cultivating a secure, energized environment where students feel recognized, challenged, and inspired to develop

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic content; adaptive AI tutors manage those subjects
  • Presenting scripted lectures or operating within a conventional classroom framework
  • Evaluating worksheets, assigning homework, or developing standardized lesson plans

Key responsibilities

Facilitate student development and life preparedness by leading impactful, real-world learning experiences within a hybrid, fully virtual charter school environment.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to begin at the end of July 2026
  • Valid U.S. teaching certificate from any state, or an expired certificate eligible for reinstatement, with certification transferable to Arizona
  • Strong virtual presence and comfort leading students via video
  • Able to work in a hybrid role in Arizona
