At Alpha School, you will deliver an AI-powered reading program that redefines early literacy instruction. You'll facilitate brief, high-impact workshops instead of conventional hour-long sessions. Assess K-2 learner needs, develop original evidence-based lessons without templates, and contribute to building adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of students. This position is designed for reading specialists who excel beyond rigid curricula and are eager to pioneer scalable literacy solutions.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating adaptive reading workshops for children ages 4-7 that build core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
  • Creating personalized motivational experiences that resonate with young learners and foster a lasting passion for reading
  • Evaluating student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and generate actionable insights
  • Partnering with the technology team to assess and refine AI-powered literacy tools

What you will NOT be doing

  • Implementing pre-scripted curricula or following published scope-and-sequence programs

Key responsibilities

Cultivate a genuine love of reading in young learners

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 2 years delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students
  • Expertise in assessing reading levels, forming student groups, and crafting differentiated instruction without reliance on pre-written curricula
  • Comfortable using AI/adaptive learning tools and adjusting instruction based on student behaviors within those systems
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
