Virtual Learning Assistant   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Imagine a role where you're the spark that ignites young minds—not through textbooks or tests, but by creating moments where learning feels like an adventure.

Unbound Academy is revolutionizing education with our groundbreaking virtual charter school that's completely tuition-free. We've thrown out the old playbook of endless worksheets and replaced it with dynamic, hands-on experiences that put personal development at the center. Students tackle their core academics efficiently in just two hours using cutting-edge AI technology, then dive into the real magic: transformative workshops designed to build character, spark curiosity, and develop essential life skills.

As our Virtual Learning Assistant, you'll be the heartbeat of our virtual classrooms—the person who ensures every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to participate. While you won't be delivering academic content, you'll be the crucial force that transforms ordinary online sessions into extraordinary learning experiences.

If you have a track record of connecting with young people—whether through coaching, camp counseling, mentoring, or youth leadership—and you're passionate about reimagining what school can be, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Orchestrating seamless virtual workshop experiences by facilitating breakout sessions, managing smooth transitions, and coordinating group dynamics
  • Energizing student participation through strategic use of chat features, celebratory recognition, and meaningful one-on-one connections
  • Fostering an environment where every child feels confident, engaged, and genuinely connected to their learning community
  • Providing essential operational support to lead facilitators, ensuring each workshop flows effortlessly from start to finish
  • Serving as a positive cultural ambassador and reliable mentor within student clubs and personal development tracks

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic instruction or presenting subject-matter content
  • Developing lesson plans, assessments, or grading student work
  • Building curriculum frameworks or independently facilitating workshops
  • Taking a passive role—this position demands active engagement and dynamic energy

Key responsibilities

Cultivate dynamic virtual learning environments by ensuring students remain motivated, well-organized, and fully engaged throughout every workshop experience.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to work full-time hours 8am - 5pm Monday through Friday, US Mountain Time (UTC-7)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in youth mentorship, coaching, tutoring, or leadership roles
  • Educational foundation within US, Canadian, or UK school systems (K-16) - must be a graduate of schools in one of these countries (remote work location welcomed)
  • Exceptional communication abilities and confident proficiency with digital learning platforms
  • Natural ability to inspire and motivate students, combined with keen attention to operational details and seamless facilitation

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with virtual learning technologies or youth development programs
  • Track record in after-school programming, summer camp leadership, or student organization management
