Do you believe that every child should read at or above grade level, yet find it frustrating when ineffective systems squander their promise?

Alpha School demonstrates that literacy transformation doesn't demand 6-hour school days. Our 2-Hour Learning framework combines AI-adaptive platforms with specialized teaching to accelerate reading development. Your role: create and execute workshops that produce quantifiable gains in phonics, fluency, and comprehension for early elementary learners.

This position isn't about administrative lesson planning. It's about evidence-based teaching, technology partnership, and constructing a reading curriculum that scales to thousands of students.

Dorado advantages: Immaculate beaches within minutes. Dynamic bilingual setting with convenient San Juan cultural access while retaining small-town living standards.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating adaptive reading workshops that strengthen phonics, comprehension, and fluency capabilities
  • Creating customized motivational sessions leveraging gamified literacy benchmarks
  • Examining student performance data to optimize teaching methods and extract actionable findings
  • Partnering with engineers to assess and improve AI literacy platforms according to classroom outcomes
  • Building scalable, AI-integrated materials that support early elementary students in reaching grade-level competency

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering lectures from the classroom front — students progress through self-directed AI applications, not passive listening
  • Implementing a packaged curriculum or scripted lesson sequences — you construct your own workshops independently
  • Teaching core academic content — your emphasis is reading workshops and motivational guidance, not math or science instruction
  • Managing behavior or supervising activities — each session includes defined learning targets and quantifiable results
  • Operating independently — you partner closely with engineers developing the AI platforms your students engage with daily

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that every K-2 student in your group achieves at or above grade-level reading through AI-enhanced workshops that render phonics instruction compelling, measurable, and enjoyable

  • Bachelor's degree accompanied by either a Master's in reading instruction OR structured literacy certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE, CERI, LETRS, Neuhaus, UFLI, or equivalent)
  • Fluent command of English and Spanish (necessary for student and family communication)
  • 2+ years conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary students
  • Capable of evaluating reading levels, organizing student groups, and crafting differentiated instruction without pre-existing curricula
